  1. I also reviewed all my skin disorders and ALL of the ortho maneuvers!! :)
  2. I agree! I feel like Fitzgerald was my least favorite review. She goes off on tangents way too much.
  3. The last three days I did Leik's exam tips like everyone suggested. I also took two whole days to review Barkley's book (the workbook that I received during his live review), front to back. I also reviewed JNC 8, COPD staging, and asthma step management :)
  4. I, too, loved Leiks!!! Happy to say I PASSED the AANP ANP boards today!!!!! Thank you so much to everyone for their advice!
  5. They say that the first 15 questions are typically pilot questions..that may be why you found yourself guessing on the first few questions :)
  6. I, too, LOVE Leik's book and the APEA question bank. I am sitting next week for ANP and hope I pass! :) Thanks for all the info!
  7. I realize that this post was from March but I wanted to provide some input on Taylor College. I attended Taylor College in 2007-2008 from my LPN program. It was then called Professional Health Training Academy. We started out with 26 students and graduated 10, with only 8 who passed boards on their first attempt. The school was extremely unorganized and was always on the verge of losing accreditation. That was always a worry throughout the program..knowing that you are spending thousands of dollars was very nerve wrecking. We went through about 10-15 instructors in the time span of a year, one of which fell asleep during lecture (she was 80+ years old)...not a quality education if you ask me. I personally was able to pass boards on my first attempt because my mom is in the medical field and personally tutored me. Without her help, I do not know that I would have passed because their program lacked so much. With other options like CF and CTAE, it is just not worth the headache.
  8. Thank you so much for this information! I do realize it is an old post but I sit in 3 days and found it rather helpful!! :)
  9. Awesome. Thank you so much!! :)
  10. One more question, deediaz. Were there any EKG strips on the exam? I was told at my Barkley review that AANP was going to be coming out with EKG questions soon. Thank you so much for any info!! :)
  11. Great! Thanks for the info. Did you take adult or adult-gerontology? I am sitting for just adult.
  12. Awesome...I definitely plan to do Leik's exam tips, as I have heard from a friend that they were extremely helpful. Thank you so much!
  13. Awesome!!! Thank you so much. Will keep that in mind :)
  14. Great advice!! Thank you so much. I already have a list on a notepad of things to review the last week before boards. I'll use those topics :)
  15. Hi everyone! I am sitting for the AANP Adult NP boards in 10 days. I've exhausted all resources...literally. I did Fitzgerald CDs 3 months ago. I also did her review book shortly after that. I have also done the APEA CD review (twice). I have also done Hollier's (APEA) book, Leik's book, and a live Barkley review. I am now finishing up Barkley's book and working on APEA Qbank questions. The nerves are setting in and I'm just wondering if there is any other advice to be successful on boards. I feel like it has been difficult to assess how I'm doing. The APEA Qbank questions have a lot of repeats so I'm scoring around the 80s. I took the AANP practice exam about 4 weeks ago and got a 68% (66% is passing) and I just retook it today and scored a 97% (because it was the exact same test). I passed my LPN and RN boards on my first try and don't have awful test anxiety but I am really getting nervous about this. Thanks in advance for any advice! Yasmin
