Rotating Schedule Suggestions
I have the option of selecting a "six weeks days, six weeks nights" rotating schedule or a "three weeks days, three weeks nights" version at my current job. I can see the pros and cons of each (the six week rotation would be better biologically as far as sleep, insomnia, and general health, and the three week option would be more ideal for my social life and work-life balance), but I was wondering if anyone had any insight, tips, or suggestions regarding the topic. I'm having a hard time making my decision!

Taking a Position as a Float Nurse as a New Grad
Can any experienced nurses or nurses who has taken a job as in the float pool right out of college themselves give their opinion on accepting a position as a float nurse as a new grad? The idea of being trained to be so well-rounded in the hospital's units is appealing, but not having a "home" and close-knit group of co-workers is a bit of a concern for me. What are the pros and cons? Would you suggest it?

They told me they would be in touch again in about a week to discuss references (via phone call and email).

Children's Hospital of Colorado New Grad Program August 2016
My original alternate email kind of alluded that they would be contacting people to the end of this week; but I'm not 100% certain.

Children's Hospital of Colorado New Grad Program August 2016
I received an email today informing me that I'm an alternate. Also, I got a hold of the lady in charge of the program's supervisor on Friday, and she informed me that calls/emails would be finished by "early this week".

Children's Hospital of Colorado New Grad Program August 2016
I'm curious as to whether or not they 1. sent rejection emails first and left acceptance calls for last, and 2. are doing it alphabetically.

I had called too and never got a call or email back after leaving a voicemail. :/

Nope, still nothing. Further, my application online still only says "submitted".

Children's Hospital of Colorado New Grad Program August 2016
Anyone know what's going on? Several peers in my class, along with myself, applied, and none of us were emailed today. I was concerned at first, since it said that May 13 was the last day they'd send out interview notifications, but then I learned that no one had heard anything. Just curious if that's the trend all over or not.

Who do you tell if someone breaks HIPAA?
It's a job interview question, and I'm not sure if there's a set standard for how to go about addressing it.

What is the policy for how to handle a situation where you experience another nurse breaking HIPAA?

Sigma Theta Tau Chances
What is the likelihood of getting invited to join Sigma Theta Tau? Is it a huge honor, or is it pretty common for a decent amount of classmates and nurses to be nominated? Once you are invited, are you in? Or is there a further application process to determine whether or not you are actually accepted into the society?

Difference Between MO and CO
What are the main or major differences between nursing in Missouri vs. Colorado? Are there any practice law variations nurses should be aware of, ethical differences, general differences, etc.?

Best Time to Apply for Jobs?
I'll be graduating in mid May 2016, and I'm wondering: When is the ideal time to send out my applications to hospitals? I've heard mixed things from instructors and HR departments, and I know it often depends on what the particular hospital hiring page says; but is January a good time? Should I try earlier like December? Or should I go for closer to graduation, like March? I'm not sure if this matters, but I'll also be moving out of state to start my career.

MO Student and Resident Wanting to Get a License and Work in CO
I am a nursing student in Missouri who will be graduating in May 2016. I plan on moving to Colorado to start my career sometime in June. I'm getting a lot of mixed information from advisors, professors, and State Boards about whether to apply for MO licensure or CO licensure. Since they're both Compact states, should I just apply for my new license in MO, take my NCLEX in MO, and then pay to transfer my license to CO once I move and start applying for jobs? Since they're Compact states, can I apply for a CO job with an MO license? Can I even apply for a CO license if I don't have a primary residence in CO? Some information is making it sound like I have to hold primary residency in whatever state I apply, but if I have no intention of practicing in MO, can I just get a CO license now?
