  1. Yes, on first predictor I scored 68% (you need 71% to pass) then my coach had me do tests on all areas that I scored low on (safety &infection control, care & comfort, physiological adaptation, etc) and then focused review for each of those, and then took another predictor in which I got a 72%. I suggest you do full 8 hr days on your days off to review powerpoints, activities, practice tests and such, and take the main tests on the days you work before work or after. ATI updated all their powerpoints and activities for 2016 so I think you ll do great. also don't forget to do the test taking strategies modules. they help a lot with test taking skills and how to tackle questions you don't know. While actually taking the test, remember that this test is all about safety and prioritization in any given situation. what would you do first? etc. give a lot of attention to safety & infection control, and management of care (prioritization) while doing every module and taking the test. Again remember that this test is suppose to test you on how safe are you with clients (do no harm). When you know the answers go for it, but when you are not sure, always pick an answer that will keep the client safe. There is a myth out there that I am not sure that is true or not but followed it anyways that says that there are always two safe answers and two unrelated answers and if you at least chose a safe answer then you get partial credit. Also try not to rush through nclex, make sure you analyze the question and answers to pick the best answer possible to your knowledge. Take as many breaks as you need, as soon as you feel that your getting drowsy, tired, daydreaming. stop take a break and keep going! Good luck you got this!!
  2. I have heard great things about Uworld but only if you have a big knowledge base. Me personally I did virtual ATI as a gift from a few teachers. It works great as long as you put in the hard work. I took NCLEX 3 weeks ago and passed with 93 questions. Dont get discouraged. You are almost there!
  3. How have you studied? What have you used so far?
  4. Hello I graduated from nursing school 2012 and passed nclex 3 weeks ago. I did virtual ati alone and was enough to pass with about 90 questions. I heard that Uworld has some of the best questions but if you dont have a good content base it will do you no good. Me personally did virtual ati.. however I studied all powerpoints and learning activities for every module followed practice tests for each module, then the main test for the module, followed by a focused review for each test. Until I finished all modules. Honestly it took me about 6 months to complete everything, but I felt really competent with my content base. I suggest giving ati a chance (reviewing all powerpoints and such) and when you finish all tests for ati(there arent many) then do Uworld questions. Good luck!
  5. Hello, I took NClex about 3 weeks ago. NCLEX is all about safety and prioritization or at least for me. Keep the client safe, and knowing what to do first on any given situation. good luck!
  6. Hello Yes I went to the boards and they gave me a big list of refresher courses, but all of them start on August and this one is the only one that you can start at any time, the only thing is that you have to have clinical arrangements(verbal agreement from the hospital) before you enroll in the course. Currently I am working on getting the arrangement done. But the program seems legit and straight forward.
  7. Hello, I think you should take as many breaks as you need before getting fatigued. There is this myth out there that I am not sure its true but followed anyway... The test is suppose to test your ability to be safe or keep a patient safe. So if there is a question that you have no clue about, always chose an answer that would keep the patient safe or (do no harm). In my personal experience I was always able to narrow the answers to 2 and the other 2 are unsafe or unrelated. The myth says that you get partial credit for picking a safe answer. This is just something to think about. Do not quote me or anything.. Good Luck!!
  8. I am with Ackeem on this one. You have to take the time necessary for you to feel ready. Do not rush through anything. Do not cram anything. Take your time doing whatever review or book you choose. Me personally I took Virtual ati and it took me about 6 months to complete. I took my test last friday and passed in 93 questions. Practice questions are the best followed by reviewing specific concepts of questions you got wrong. You can do this! Good luck
  9. Hello I just want to say that I was doing VATI and My first attempt at predictor was 68% after that I took individual tests on the things that I scored low on followed by focused reviews on each of those individual tests, then I scored 71.3 % to get a green light in VATI you need 71 % so I did a big focused review for my last predictor, then took NCLEX last friday and passed.. That predictor is sure tough.. The best advise from me is to do a ton of practice questions right before NCLEX and you ll be alright... Hope this helped.. good luck
  10. Yes, Virtual ATI is like nursing school where you start with strategies and such in the first module. Second module is fundamentals, third is adult health and so on. Under each module there are learning activities(powerpoints). I did all of these and took notes and if I didnt understand something I will look it up in the designated book(all ebooks given by ATI), then there is pre-practice questions then you take like a mini final test for each module. After this, your virtual coach reviews your score and gives you case studies or questions related to everything you got wrong plus you do a focused review on all things missed, then you may ask for extra practice tests on that specific module before you move on to the next module.. I have to be honest with you,, this program took me about 6 months to complete but I feel that it really prepared me. A lot of people rush through it and have written horrible reviews but i feel that it is really what you put into it. I will also suggest doing ati for content and Uworld for difficult questions and rationales.
