    Mt Hood LPN program

I did the LPN. I have heard that the RN program at Mt Hood is great, I met a few of their instructors and they seemed like they were passionate about nursing and teaching their students.

    Mt Hood LPN program

My theory is it is for two reasons: 1. Mt Hood requires a lot of extra prereq's- these will take at least 6-9 months to finish unless you already have your A&P sequence, math, writing all done, and they added an additional reading class this year too. When you're going for LPN, it's probably better to go for the shortest program. Mt Hood's will take 1.5-2 years to finish vs Concorde or Sumner's 13 months. 2. The program itself has a bad reputation, for a good reasons. I just graduated from Mt Hood in March, and I would not recommend it to anyone until the current program director retires.

As far as I know, that situation hasn't happened in the history of the program. Each year fewer and fewer students have applied, but this is the first year that they had less than 24 applicants. I'm not sure what their plan will be.

Anywhere between 2-6 weeks. Some of my cohort didn't get their acceptance letter until late February.

MHCC LPN interview is a group interview + essay.questions. First, they give you time to answer typical essay questions: why do you want to be a nurse, where do you see your self in 5/10 years, dream job, example of your leadership skills/ conflict resolution skills. Then you randomly choose 1 one of your answers and give a impromptu speech to your interview group about your answer. Tips: Wear professional clothing, preferably suit Don't go off-topic during your presentation You should get in no problem, the program has a low application rate (if you want to know why, pm me). The only two that didn't get in from my interview group was the woman wearing jeans and a tshirt who sounded unenthused to be there, and the lady who went on a crazy rant about her coworkers when she was supposed talk about how she handled conflict with others.
