ABSN or 2-year Program?
I am looking to switch into an ABSN. I have a bachelors degree and I overthought everything about the ADN program I was in. The previous year only had a 57% pass rate on the NCLEX so I had so many reservations about it. I felt I was in the wrong program so I decided to leave after my first semester, even though I was successful. I regret leaving and would like to try again. Financially, I can't swing a private school. First off, I should say I live in Massachusetts and most programs are private at about $60-70k. That's why a few of the public schools were appealing but I know they're extra competitive because of that reason. My potential start date wouldn't be until 2019. I want to work and save up so I have the luxury of not having to work while in the program or either that I could work maybe a shift or 2 a week. It's a tough decision because I would either apply to a 2 year school right now (because I have everything I need) or just finish my outstanding prereqs and wait to apply to an accelerated program. In MA, you cannot work in a hospital unless you have a BSN so I'd have to get it anyway. I know that's a lot but your thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated!

ABSN or 2-year Program?
I have a bachelors degree in psychology where my GPA is 3.1. I have 4/6 prerequisites completed and my GPA for those is 3.88. I work in a hospital currently. My TEAS were 76. I'm wondering if it's worth it for me to apply to an accelerated program or if I'm better off going with a 2 year program and then just doing RN-BSN after. Anyone have any thoughts on accelerated programs and if that's the way to go? If so, how is the pace? Is it incredibly grueling? Thanks in advance!

NACE EXAM I
Has anyone taken this exam? I successfully completed my first semester of an ADN program and was told I could be admitted into another program as a second semester student if I pass the NLN ACE exam with a 75% or higher but the exam seems like it's meant for PNs. I'm about ready to re-read my entire Fundamentals book. I can't find ANY information about the topics covered on this exam. Has anyone taken it and if so what does it cover? Help! :)

Need some guidance
I'm sure these topics exist all over this site and I apologize in advance if this topic has been exhausted over the years. I'm in need of some advice from those who have traveled down a similar path. I just turned 30 and have had the transition into a career in nursing on my mind for over a year now. I have only ever held non-medical/healthcare jobs in the past. I have a bachelors degree in psychology with a 3.2 GPA. I have taken the following courses: lifespan psychology aka human growth & development, chemistry, biology, statistics. I have yet to take A&P I, II or micro but will work toward it in the upcoming year. My passion is mental health and being in a behavioral setting or psychiatric hospital would be my ultimate goal. I want to do a direct-entry or accelerated BSN program but around here (Boston, MA) they are extremely pricey ($60,000 or more for Northeastern) and very competitive. Honestly, I'm not sure I have a high enough GPA for one of those programs. Does anyone have any advice for me? I've been told to just shoot for direct-entry but others have told me to go ADN through a community college to avoid lots of loans and there are so many RN-BSN programs I can do. Also, would anyone recommend LPN first? I have seen a lot of jobs for LPNs in mental health/substance abuse settings. My main objectives are to be able to work part time in the field while I attend school and I'd like to try to avoid a massive student loan. Any advice is appreciated!
