  1. That is the part that is easy for me. I became a nurse because I have alot of TLC to give. When I can ease someones fears or make them feel more comfortable, when I can be there for that lonely person well, It's what makes me want to get up each and every day to go to work....to make a difference in someones day. Its what makes me strive to be the best nurse I can be. Isnt that why we all do this? I am sure it will be very rewarding. :) thanks
  2. Hi, Thanks for replying. I was very concerned about going into a more acute setting as I had limited myself to urology only. Sinse my post I ran into an old friend that I once worked with (she now works at this facility I will be going to) I was able to ask her more about the facililty. (things I should have asked during my interview) What I found out. (you should also know that I did 2 rotations at this facility when in school for my lpn) Anyway. No care plans...there is a dept for that. I was worried about my math skills, she says she hasnt had to do any math there. That they have everything printed out there and have a direct line to the pharmacy. ( I am still reviewing my math though) I was also worried about pt/nurse ratio. Get this, she only has 12 pts. There were other worries but she put them all to rest. I have ordered a few books to review things with and everything is coming right back so I was worried for nothing evidently. I am really looking forward to this new job. It sounds like they all work great as a team. I was told it is stressful but a good stress and that everyone works together and laughs alot. That was all I needed to know. I have also been reading many threads on this site and have been able to review so much. This is the greatest site and am glad I stumbled upon it. Thank you so much for responding. Have a glorious day. :)
  3. I hope this comes through. I am new at this. I have been an LPN now for 8 1/2 yrs. I have been a urology nurse for those years. I have decided to move on and have interviewed at a Rehab ctr. Its also a LTC facility. I am pretty sure I have the job if I want it. I am excited to begin but very scared. Scared because I limited myself to only urology since becoming a nurse. I have been reviewing everything like meds, care plans etc. If anyone has any advise for me, I would really appreciate the advise. Thanks:mad:
