I took Eng 101 partially online and partially in person and that worked out well. I'm currently taking Eng 102 online and it's really great. The professor is awesome so that probably has a lot to do with it. We read something every week and then have to write a discussion post from a different literary perspective and there's usually a journal entry as well. I think there's just 2 papers the entire semester and no quizzes/tests.

I don't think there's any way I'll get off the waitlist. My GPA isn't as high as some others who haven't been accepted. I'll plan on reapplying to the LPN to RN pathway and hopefully I'll join those of you who were accepted for the Spring 2027 semester. Maybe I'll retake a class that I got an A- in to try to get an A+ ???. Congratulations and good luck to everyone who was accepted!

So the way the Challenge program works is that I would be joining the regular nursing program but would enter at the start of the 2nd semester and skip the 1st semester. The only spots available are from the students who drop out, fail out, or take a leave of absence. They usually have like 20ish spots available and 15ish LPN applicants. This year they had 9 spots available and 34 applicants. Because I've been an LPN over 3 years, I would have to do the challenge program. If I had been an LPN less then 3 years, I could do the bridge program where students enter in the 3rd semester. I didn't want to take the chance of the same thing happening in January next year so figured if I could get into this program, it's more work but at least I'll be in. Thank you! Good luck to you too! Yes there were only 9 spots available this time.

Hey everyone! I'm right here with you all, awaiting decision notices. I am actually an LPN and applied to the LPN to RN challenge program that started this past January but unfortunately I did not get in. There were more applicants then ever and less spots then ever before so most people did not get in. So, I decided to just apply to the full nursing program. I know when I applied, I was told it would be mid March sometime.

Misuse of the ER
While I understand that this can be frustrating, please know that there are nurses like me, grateful for you and your ER. I work at a medical day program with adults with mental illness. I can't tell you how many times I've sent clients to the ER by ambulance for non-emergent ailments. I used to feel guilty but now I know it's in my clients best interest and am just grateful there's an option. Urgent care often isn't an option due to transportation issues, lack of family/friends. PCP's frequently don't have open appts.
