There isn't generally one specific place that everyone lives. This year, there are people on West Main, near the corner, Madison Ave, in the Belmont area, downtown, on grounds, etc. It depends on lots of different factors, such as, whether you'd like to be within walking distance, cost, amenities, and the like.

Congrats to everyone who got an interview! Best of luck on those; I'm sure they are meant to be a "get to know you" sort of thing, and to make sure your views and goals align with those of the program. I don't know any specifics on numbers. However, last year I tried to do some calculations on the interview-to-acceptance ratio, and I got to something like, they interview half of the applicant pool, then accept half of that. Don't take my word on that though. The analyses I did were very rough Seriously, it is usually a toss up depending on what kind of applicants they get. There were 50 people in the 2018 cohort this past May; the largest cohort yet.

Decisions are up!! I got in!!! Anyone else?

I figure that'll be the case. I looked at mine and I didn't notice any change either. I was hoping it would be at 12:01a like it has been in years past, but I guess it's different this year.

I think the site says that they post the decision letter in the application portal. The place where you can see the status of your transcripts and all that, or at least, that's my understanding of it.

Wondex15, The website also notes December 20th as the date that decisions go out. However, two of the posters on this forum contacted admissions and the latest news is that decisions will be posted on December 22nd. AKA: tonight/tomorrow!! Good luck :)

My first code was actually just this past Saturday. I'm not even a nursing student yet (though hopefully being admitted to a wonderful school in the next couple of months :) ), but I am an EMT. Older guy, COPD and dialysis pt. Got called out as difficulty breathing, then shifted to a code. Upon arrival he had gurgly respirations and did have a pulse. They paced him, but he went down and we started compressions. No shockable rhythm. I managed airway throughout and got to drop the king airway. It was a really exciting moment for me! First time I got to drop the king, suction, and drop an OPA. Unfortunately, the pt did not make it.

I haven't heard anything yet, but my interviewer mentioned something about the end of the month. I'm really hoping it'll be the 20th like it has been in the past. I'm so nervous, I feel like this wait is lasting forever!

Congrats on getting an interview to begin with! I couldn't agree more, these next couple of weeks are going to last a long time. The reality is, unfortunately, that none of us truly know what's going to happen until it happens :/ Best of luck to you, I hope it works out for all of us!

I just had my interview this morning! I thought it went great :) the interviewer was so sweet and very complimentary, so I was definitely fortunate. I'm excited for decisions to be made! This wait is going to be so hard. I hope everyone's week went well!

Congratulations and good luck!! Thank you for your input from the program :) It is much appreciated, and I like getting to know more of the ins and outs. The pressure to get a B would probably be the hardest part for me too, and I feel the exact same way. I've never been a C student overall, but knowing that you have to do well is hard. I'm hoping it'll just be more of a motivator though! One more little question. Did you know of anyone who ran Rescue (i.e. volunteer rescue squads in the area) during their time in the program? Thank you!

Thank you so much for the response, hs4zu! That is some really wonderful information to have. It makes me excited for the program. The cons do sound intense, but like you said, I would expect nothing less from a nursing school. The 1:1 in clinicals sounds especially appealing to me. Which of the courses/clinicals have been most challenging to you so far? Thanks again! P.S. I got a call for an interview today!!! Beyond excited :)

I'm loving all this great news from everyone! I called UVA yesterday and talked to Christopher. He said my app. is still under review and that emails would continue to go out over the next couple of weeks, so I'm keeping my hopes up for now :) Great job, everyone!
