Instead of using a million index cards, use a sheet of paper!.... take a regular sheet of paper, fold it in half...write the question or term on one side (number them), and the answer (number them too) on the other. When studying, flip the folded paper back and forth like you would a flashcard. If you do it wisely, you could get 101 questions out of each sheet of paper. (p.s. if writing questions, you may use more than 1 line for the question and/or the answer)

If iodine is needed to produce thyroid hormone, then why does excess iodine cause hypothyroidism, not hyperthyroidism?

Congrats on the new OR job! I have worked in the OR for almost 15 years now. It is definitely different than any other department. Don't worry about not being comfortable, or feeling like you have no idea what's going on, it takes a good year or even two to feel like you know what you are doing. Most everything will feel like a new learning experience. Good luck!
