I plan on ordering all my stuff before I go... Hoping to get all of it from a base? I know I won't have access until I have my military ID card though. Are the boots from a military base store uncomfortable or are you just wanting to break some in early?

What did you wish you knew before you went? What did you wish you brought, didn't really need, or know is necessary to bring? How was the training?

I know that some of us will have to take a course as part of specialty training before they start their nurse work.

What I learned about the ISP is you have to be certified in the same specialty that you are working in. Also it only applies to certain specialties. It is something that is applied for once you get to your duty station. There is fine print about not qualifying depending on what type of bonuses and loan repayment that you are already getting. I am inquiring more into it myself. Either way, I think it's great that we even get an accession bonus this year. It was a nice surprise. :)

What are you selected for?

I think there are still only 4 active duty AE squadrons. It's an intense application process but ICU experience is great to have that is also my background. A flight physical is required in addition to Meps. I am geared to take my CFRN exam soon.

I'm really sorry I would not have posted if I didn't think it was officially released soon. :/ Again I found out unofficially. Hey remember we got picked so that's good news to hold on to!!!

Yes I found out unofficially. I think the official results are coming out today if I'm not mistaken.

Hi all please post if you are attending Air Force COT in May 2016! I am selected as Flight Nurse and my duty station will be Scott AFB. :)

Thank you so much for the responses I will continue to study. Right now I am reading ASTNA patient transport principles and practice. Once I finish reading that I plan on trying out a question/answer book and some podcasts as well. Any further advice please post :)

Does anyone know if rank is based on years or experience or both? I am hoping to understand how those are assigned.
