  1. Here's the thing....I had 6 months of float exp...after nsg School then straight to my major metro city's busiest downtown ER.......LOVED IT..... 3. Yrs later I left due to personal administration reasons and that hospital getting bought out etc, now I moved on to the busiest level 1 trauma ER here and love it even more. Can it be chaos. ..yes, but you will never learn more about yourself and just being on a great bonding team than u will working in a good ER.

Ok so I am new here just a humorous little rant here about my ER and probably every nurses ER would be a fun way to break the ice... So here it is everyone throw out saaaaaay your top .......5 most funny/annoying/ or irritating things that you have to hear/ see/ deal with in your ER as a tech ,nurse whatever.. 1. Call light or family rushing out to tell me that the pt's fluids are done and I need to do something about it. 2. PT purposefully mispronounced morphine or dilaudid when naming them as "the only pain meds that worked last time" cuz they think that makes seem like less of a seeker... 3. Cries about 10/10 pain and screams bloody murder when I put the tourniquet on for IV 4. Cries about 10/10 pain while laughing and playing on cell phone 5. Upon initial assessment starts conversation off with ....WebMD says I could have....... So come on all my ER peeps have fun with this!
  3. I am also terribly sorry for all u are going through. .....can u not apply for a leave of absence with fmla covering u.....that way at least u don't have to worry about ur great job...you are putting way to much all on urself l.....so what happens if you break? Forgive me for sounding trite but it is time for a little battlefield triage IMO ....Can YOU help ur brother on your own with just you as a resource right now? Maybe one of those nicer rehab places for a while if that is possible.....not 100% sure of the entire situation. ..then u can still support him on court dates etc. Finally you can spend the remaining time with ur husband and maybe even some time for you....these are all just the first ideas that came to my mind....just keep in mind I was an Army combat medic and have been an ER RN ever since sooo that's the type of mindset u are dealing with with me lol
  4. Usually basketball which I am a member of 3 leagues or occasionally going out with some of the peeps from work...that keeps me balanced
