Board of Nursing takes FOREVER!
I don't remember exact timetables, however it took a very long time for me. I was applying for my ATT from out of state, so I ad to do the oldschool fingerprinting. The FBI set was deemed "of insufficient quality" and I had to resubmit them, further delaying my test date. I graduated this past December. Good news is I took the NCLEX April 20th and passed. I would imagine that if you don't hear anything before that kind of time frame, I would definitely think there was an issue somewhere. Just be reasonably patient and if you are in a hurry, I suggest paying for the quick results after the exam if that option is available to you. Apparently Ohio accepts those results since I received my license in the mail April 23. I was in no hurry since I'm trying to sell my house, but I was impatient for my results. Good luck to you.

Moving to Toledo
Will be moving as soon as my house sells here in Charlotte, NC. (wish me luck there) I am a brand new nurse with an Ohio license and 13+ years of varied medical experience, just no nursing experience aside from clinicals. It looks like the jobs are a little competitive up there from some of the recent posts I've read. I have my sights set on Toledo Hospital, and hopefully I won't have too much trouble getting a position there that I will enjoy. Mostly I'd like to know about neighborhoods/local areas to look for a house to rent and possibly rental agencies to look into. I'm a third shifter and a bit wary of apartments due to that. Last time I was up there, I looked through the local paper and rental prices didn't look too bad, but I don't know the area that well. I need to be convenient to TSU/MCO since my fiance is in their DPT program as well as relatively convenient to Toledo Hospital. I'd also love to hear from anyone who has anything to say about Promedica, especially about starting pay, recruiters, treatment of staff, etc... All comments, good and bad, would be appreciated. Looking forward to some fun watching the Mud Hens play. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Charlotte CNA options
Thanks J's Mom. I knew there had to be something like that. I just couldn't find anything, even with my supreme Googling skills. I'll have time to look into it Tuesday and will report what I find here in Charlotte. The advisors in UNCC had nothing for me BTW. I guess due to me being me, the questions I ask them are so far and away from what they expect, they always look at me like I've got an eggplant growing out of my left ear.

Charlotte CNA options
Here's the skinny. I work 3rd full-time as a RPSGT in Charlotte. I will be done with all my prerequisites after this semester, except for certification as an NA. I need a CNA before I can even apply to UNCC's program or many of the two year programs here. I also already have a BS in Biology and don't wnat to go the UNCC "pathways" route if I can help it. Do to my sleepy schedule, a CNA class seems a bit impossible for me. This may sound bad, but I don't plan on using the CNA for work during school. Is there an avenue I can take to get my CNA where a CNA class is not needed? That is, can I study for the exam and just take it for the certification? Thanks in advance for any info here
