Hi, New travel nurse here, started in Seattle and loving my experience, I wanted to know if there are any LPNs/RNs who have traveled to Cali? I just have a few questions. What area did you prefer to stay in? Did your weekly income live up to your expectations? I would also love to hear advise on living expenses, best living options, and transportation service preference (rental uber, Lyft, shipped personal vehicle) please share! Thanks!

That's awesome that you are goin straight into your RN program. I have to look around in the Atlanta area to see which bridge program I would like. And yes 60 sata lol it was crazy. Kaplan was harder as far as test questions so it prepares you for the tricky questions. The layout of your exam will look the exact way as qbank. To me the nclex questions were not as hard as qbank. In my opinion They were more straight to the point question and answers like Saunders but some were still tricky . Saunders helped tremendously because I feel as though u have to know content to answer the questions. So it's really good for that. Saunders questions aren't the hardest but it helped me understand the illness the question was talking about or precautionary measure I needed to take in order to answer the question correctly (sorry It's so long lol)

Hello Nurses & Future Nurses!! I wanted to share my nclex experience with those of you who test date may be slowly approaching. Trust me I know your nerves are on ten right now! But I just wanted to give a few words of encouragement. I studied for 4 lonnnnggg months after I graduated from my nursing program. I heard the rumors about "oh don't wait too long or you have a harder chance of passing" uh no. Not the case. I believe u have to go at the pace you feel is best for you when it comes to studying. Don't get me wrong I did have an issue with my voucher info so it pushed me back an extra month but I looked at it as God's way of preparing the perfect exam for me. During that time. I completed Kaplan qbank and Saunders. It was very helpful. Especially Saunders when it came to the SATA questions. I also used PN mastery periodically but my focal point was Saunders majority of the time along with the qbank. I made a schedule and tackled each content area one day at a time. I would stretch my studying throughout the day from studying content to taking practice test. And NO I did not do good on every practice test. My scores ranged from 30-80s. About two days before my test scores stayed up lol (70-80s). So do not beat yourself up about this. The day before my test no studying at all. Just a clear mind to relax. (I woke up from a dream saying lab values that night) Lol. The day of my test I was very calm and positive. I believe positivity Is the key to doing well on this exam. And you CANNOT forget prayer because that is what help push me along this journey. Took my exam at 2pm. I had 85 questions about 60 were SATA (not joke I was freaking out) I had a few exhibit questions where I had to read the chart and a few multiple choice. Nothing more. I tested for about 2 hours. I PASSED the first time and it felt great!! (I waited the 48 hours for quick results) So my words of encouragement to you guys are to take it one day at a time. If I could go back I would tell myself to not cry and stress as much as I did. Lol cause I did alot. Especially when I got home after the exam. Also, Don't listen to what others have said about how hard or how easy it is. Because in all honesty if you have done the best that you could by studying hard, Then u have already won half the battle. The only part that's left is showing that u know what u know. And that's by passing the exam which you all WILL do. Hopefully this helps someome. If you have any questions feel free to ask

Hey, you are doing fine. I took my boards four months after graduation. Used Saunders and kaplan qbank. My scores fluctuated so much during that time 30-80's. Some days I was happy and others felt like I didn't know anything. U will do fine. Took nclex on a friday. Stopped at 85. Did the 48 hour quick results that sunday and found out I passed. Just stay persistent it will definitly pay off.
