pay grade 10 i think is about 16/ hour. did you have a lot of job opportunity or did you have to be desperate to get hired?

Hi congrats!! I just started LPN school August 20th and like you most exciting thing of my life!! I can't wait to be a nurse:)

In my opinion, and this is at least in South Florida, if you get the right job you are only making a few dollars less than RN and don't have as many responsibilities. I know a handful of RNs that are 26 or so and burned out from stress and are seeking teaching positions! I'm in LPN school too it's HARD and I am damn proud of myself. Congratulations to you for making the good decision of becoming an LPN!

When I was going PCA at memorial I was following an LPN in my clinicals but she was the only one there and she had been there for almost ten years

Thank you for responding!! What exactly IS Lpn pay at memorial? I did a PCA program two years ago I got an interview with memorial and they wanted to pay me 11.00 an hour as a PCA..

McFatter (Davie), Atlantic Tech (Coconut Creek) and Sheridan (Hollywood) all offer the course for under $200. I currently attend McFatter for LPN and they let us know last week about this course.

I feel the same way! I'm in school to be an LPN and everyone's like where are you going to go after?! I'm like hold your horses! I would feel comfortable making $18 an hour and maybe having a baby and going back in a few years MAYBE but why take a higher stress job? I want to be dedicated to my family. I have friends who became RNs at 22 and now at 26 they are BURNED OUT bad seeking OTHER professions!! I want to know.. is it really worth it??

Hi everyone I am in LPN school in South Florida (Broward County). I am also going to get my IV Cert right after the program. What are some of the highest paying employers in the area? I'm willing to travel as South as Miami if I have to. Also, I saw a few adds at hospitals looking for LPNs as well. Will the pay grade be significantly lower there? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!
