  1. Got my interview! January 17th. Best of luck to everyone!
  2. Cvicunurse123 yes, I am. As patiently as possible.
  3. Has anyone who lives in Texas who applied for DFW sites heard anything yet? I finished my application August 1st and have not heard anything, and my application status still says "Complete and Received."
  4. I am fascinated by all the modes of interview, at different sites. I hadn't heard of a phone interview for DFW site applicants at all until today. That sounds really promising for you, Golf325!
  5. Carocam, which sites did you apply for?
  6. Spoke with the admissions office today. DFW site interview schedules are going out within the next two weeks as they finish up interview notices for distance sites. Fear not, everyone, still plenty of time!
  7. First time applicant. Congratulations Dixie, this is so exciting!!! Still haven't heard anything but my friends who wanted DFW sites didn't hear anything about interviews until November.
  8. I had Fort Worth sites as my first pick. Didn't check the box that I was willing to travel. Maybe that hurt my chances, who knows. I'm trying not to stress about it too much. No idea how I can make myself a better candidate at this point, except maybe a better GRE writing score...
  9. Still haven't heard a word. I emailed the admissions office this morning and she hasn't responded to me yet. I am checking my email and junk mail obsessively! I only applied to DFW sites. Anyone else?
  10. Same here! Only I'm putting all my eggs in one basket...
  11. I talked to the new secretary yesterday and she said they HAVE started sending out interview notices, but didn't know where I was in the process, and I would have to talk to L.G. (but she had already left for the day). Sounds like things are a bit unorganized...my application still says "Complete and Received."
  12. Yes, I emailed Lisa to get my cumulative GPA. Also, I JUST heard from a former colleague who is finishing up the program at TWU that they are transitioning a new secretary right now. So that may slow things down a little! Perfect timing, eh? I wish you and everyone on this thread the best of luck! I will make a post when I hear something from Admissions.
  13. Hey all! I have been stalking this thread religiously so I thought I would post! I have applied to the program, finished my entire application August 1st. So I have literally been waiting to get that special interview email since then! Been emailing Lisa Graham a lot, too...squeaky wheel gets the grease, right? Stats: CVICU/ICU nurse for 9 years (7 in adult CVICU/ICU, 2 years in pediatric/neonatal CV) GRE 304 combined, writing 3.0 GPA cumulative 3.5 (per Lisa Graham) CCRN (adult), CVRN-BC I constantly worry if I need to do more or if I am "good enough" for this program. Anyone else feel this way? But man, do I want this. It's time. First time applying, and I've only applied to TWU.
  14. Hey everyone! I have been a long-time lurker of this website, but this is my very first post. :) I have been an adult ICU/CVICU/CCU nurse for 7 years, from day one as a nurse. I just landed my dream job at Cook Children's in their cardiac ICU. I have never worked in pediatric medicine, but cardiac surgery and medicine has always been my absolute passion. I just got up the courage to apply at Cook's and within a three day span, got a callback for an interview, did the interview, and got the job offer. I am so excited and thrilled to have this opportunity, as it is an extremely rare one. Plus, Cook's is just plain awesome! Do any of you cardiac pedi nurses or Cooks employees have any words of wisdom for me? Are there any books I can purchase that you recommend? I will have about 2 weeks of class time and 3 months of orientation on the unit. But I want to learn as much as I can! Any advice is much appreciated! Thank you, guys!
