uworld percentages?
I completed the UWorld question bank before testing and I was scoring anywhere from 44%-70% on the questions. I was also getting mid 60's on my Kaplan quizzes. These results worried me, however I passed the NCLEX in 75 questions, with over 3/4 of my exam being SATA. I wouldn't stress too much about your score, especially if you are above the averages on the site. Good luck writing!

failed nclex-rn x6
It is surprising to me that you are allowed to attempt the exam that many times. In Canada, they have limited the number of attempts to 3 times, with the possibility of the College to annul the results, only in extenuating circumstances.

Failed the NLCEX, how to prepare for 2nd attempt?
I began doing practice questions to see which areas I was weak in and actually went back and read through my textbooks on those subjects until I felt confident. Once I did that, I completed a review book, and surprisingly came across many things I had not learned in school. I focused on those areas that I was weak in, again. Once I completed the review book I watched the Hurst lectures online. These were very helpful in making things simplified and easy to understand. Definitely a great resource if you need content refreshers. Once I finished all of that I worked on practice questions. I literally completed more than 10,000 questions. I used anything from Kaplan, to Lippincott 10,000, UWorld, and NCLEX Mastery app. I would read the rationales and it reinforced all the information, whether I knew it, or it was new to me. It also helped me with how to answer the questions. That was probably the most helpful, because I am from Canada and they just started the NCLEX this year, and our previous style of exam was very different. As difficult as it is, try your best to relax when you are prepping for, and writing the exam. A little bit of anxiety can be beneficial, but I have personally experienced the negatives of high anxiety levels when testing. Good luck, it is possible!!!

Kaplan qbank, NCLEX Mastery or UWorld
LOVED UWorld! Found it a week before I tested and I wish I had found it sooner! Another one that I really found helpful was Lippincott 10,000 by Prep-U. It starts off with easier questions and gets harder as you go, which I found really helpful. They had a 2 week trial, which was all I really needed so I didn't have to pay the $100+. NCLEX mastery was helpful too, especially because I could do it on the go. Good luck!

Pearson Vue trick in Canada 2015- NCLEX
Everyone I know who got the 'good' pop-up passed (in Canada), and a lot of people I know received their results in 2 business days, so hopefully you don't have to wait long!! Good luck!!

Uworld vs. Kaplan vs. Hurst? Which one is better???
I used all 3 and I would have to say each is good for different things. I LOVED UWorlds questions because they were the most similar to the NCLEX (structure, layout, questions). I completed the online HURST videos and I felt they weren't beneficial to me personally because I completed a review book prior to watching the videos, but they would be helpful if you want a refresher that is very simple. The Kaplan questions were also very similar to the higher level questions on the NCLEX. I loved my Kaplan NCLEX premier because it helped me approach the questions in the way they expect on the exam. Although these were all great resources, I think it would be important to complete a few delegation/priority questions because those showed up on a lot of people's exams. Good luck!

Anyone ever just do KAPLAN QBANK only? Thoughts?
Kaplan questions were definitely very similar to the NCLEX style questions. I did thousands of practice questions to prepare and I believe they helped the most when it came time to write. I supplemented the questions with review books (I found some pdfs online of books, such as HESI). I was scoring around 60-75% on the Kaplan quizzes and I passed in 75 questions.

Passed Canadian NCLEX 75 Questions
I spent a lot of time scrolling through this site in preparation for my NCLEX. Some threads made me extremely nervous, while others helped me feel more confident in my abilities. I am going to share with you how I passed my NCLEX in 75 questions the first time around. First, I want everyone to know that I was not the type of student that could study the night before and ace the exam. I would do my weekly readings, make notes, and spend weeks studying so that I could understand the content. That is just the type of learner I am. I purchased the Kaplan NCLEX-RN premiere 6 months prior to writing my exam. I didn't begin reading it until a month and a half before I wrote. I used this book before I started studying in order to get a general understanding of how to answer the questions, and also what areas I need the most work in. I struggled the most with maternity and mental health so I actually went back and read my textbook on those sections. I'm sure I would have been fine just reviewing them through Hurst (which i completed later on), however I am the type of learner that needs to know the background in order to learn/remember the general facts needed for the NCLEX. Next I watched the Hurst lectures. This helped reinforce everything I learned in nursing school, and highlighted the important areas. I recommend it if you're the type of learner that needs someone explaining topics to you. The online portion was nice because you could pause it, re-watch, or take a break when your brain gets fried. What I believe helped me the most was questions. I used the lippincott 10,000 questions, which I used the free 2-week trial on. I also was able to use a free month trial of UWorld. UWorld was the most like the NCLEX, however the questions on UWorld were harder than the majority of questions I received on my exam. In addition, I used the NCLEX mastery app (which I purchased when it was on sale) and I used this when I was on break at the hospital, waiting for commercials to be over, or waiting to pick up friends. Definitely very convenient. I also used this app for the lab values. Kaplan test questions were also similar to the level of difficulty of questions I received on the NCLEX. I also want to note I was only scoring 60-70% on Kaplan quizzes, and anywhere from 40-70% on UWorld quizzes, so don't be distraught over your lower scores. It is possible to pass the NCLEX in 75 questions your first attempt. You will never truly feel prepared to write the exam, but be confident in yourself and take the exam seriously. Also, don't forget to take time to yourself to relax, have fun, and enjoy yourself. If you aren't getting lots of rest and taking care of your body, you can't expect your body/brain to take care of you during that exam. Best of luck to everyone!
