My hospital recently announced that if staff test positive for COVID-19 that the usual sick-leave policies apply, meaning you have to use your earned time to cover 2 weeks of missed work. As an RN who has tested and cared for COVID-19 positive patients with inadequate PPE, having to use my earned paid time off doesn't seem appropriate. What are your hospitals doing if you have known contact(s) with COVID-19 positive patients and you end up getting sick with COVID-19?
