Practice question that doesn't seem right.
the key to this questions is in the questions..."what appears to be an asthma attack. It appears, by appearance it is safe to give O2, but not safe to give drug without assessing. If the questions was past that point and read...the patient is having an asthma attack, then the correct answer is Albuterol. Rationale: you administer Albuterol first to open airways, then a steroid second to administer into those open airways.

Not sure how it works, and I am not sure that if you have more than 60 if you are even guaranteed acceptance. This is maddening!

Thanks for checking! Did they say anything else? Monday 10/12 is Columbus Day and the Post Office is closed, so that means we will likely receive them Tuesday or Wednesday, unless they happen to send them out earlier. I am not sure if the Post Office still delivers mail on Saturdays, maybe they will in light of Monday's holiday status. Where is their mercy!!!! lol.

Yes, I was hoping to get more posts just so we all know where we might stand in the process of waiting, it gives us something to do besides pulling our hair out waiting! I have noticed that when I ask some people that have applied or that have gotten in on previous application processes how many points they have or had, that they don't know or skirt the issue. Which leads me to believe that it may be a rather low score. I know how many point I have and I can never forget, this is all that matters with the application so I have no idea how someone does not know or can't remember! Some people do not like to disclose these types of things, I can understand, some people are just very private. I am private about most things, but this is something I am willing to talk about to help others and myself through the process.

I'm chewing my nails off! I have talked to a lot of applicants and ask everyone how many points they have and they all have low points. It seems like it was 60 and below, so there might me more applicants but the points are low. and by everyone do you mean the staff said this or just the applicants are making assumptions? I think these are all rumors...I probably should not have even brought it up, it just adds to the rumor mill!- Santa Fe Gainesville Nursing applicants for Spring 2016
Hey! Just started this support thread to get through the application process. Just checking to see where others are sitting in the app process, I applied with 70 points and curious to see what others have. It is supposed to be a point system exclusively, but I hear rumors that some get in with lower points, some get rejected with higher points...maybe just rumor?????? I also heard we will know by October 1st through the mail only.. Please post any comments or questions and best of luck to us all!- Kaplan Dosage Calculations
I haven't but there are a few dosage questions.- What should I expect to be on the Kaplan Nursing entrance exam?
manatee17: I know this is an old post but there still is not much info on the Kaplan Nursing Entrance Exam. I only have to take the Reading and math portion. I am so glad you said the reading is similar to the ACT and SAT, now I have something to go on. Most every post I read says to steer away from the Kaplan Study Guide book and I did get it but there is only a little portion on reading and I did the test exam already but want to practice more, I did well but still wa stumped on a couple questions. For the math, it looks like it is basic stuff, but what are some examples of the dosage questions so I can try to study up on those, I have never done that before. Thank you for your help! I hope you are still on this board :)- What should I expect to be on the Kaplan Nursing entrance exam?

Well it all worked out in the end for you kelenal! For the math, is it just basic adding and subtracting decimals and fractions, or was it converting them? Seems easy but I can see if you went in cold it would be a bit of a challenge to remember even the easiest of math, all that easy stuff has been replaced if not used as much!!!! And you did get to use a calculator I am assuming???? I am not sure if anyone started a Facebook page for your class but I think the person that started the thread said she was going to. :)- Santa Fe College ASN 2015 hopefuls!
Congrat to getting in kelenal!!!! I am applying in September...great Kaplan score, did you study and what study tools did you use? Do they make you take all 4 portions of the test and just use the math and reading, or do you specifically take the 2 needed? Thanks and good job it's not easy jumping through all of the hoops to get yourself there :) - Santa Fe Gainesville Nursing applicants for Spring 2016
