  1. There are an overwhelming number of men's out there. I actually went to pharmacy school and practiced for a few years before going to nursing svhool. When I took pharmacology in pharmacy school, they taught us the class of drug. For example, NSAIDS, glucocorticoids, etc. We learned the general actions, indications and side effects and then they listed the prominent drugs in that class. There were many times in my nursing career when I was vaguely familiar with the specific drug but I knew the class and that helped a lot. I am now tutoring for the next and the students seem very confused and unsure about meds. They know the nursing skills so we are focusing on pharmacology. Know your drug classes.
