  1. I want to work at the hospital I applied to. So I guess I should wait and see.
  2. I recently applied to a Labor and Delivery position and interviewed last week. I am currently working as a Labor and Delivery nurse but wanted to venture out and work at a larger hospital. I received a call after the interview from the manager earlier this week. She told me that she was going to give me the position but just had a current employee who needed to be changed to full time due to a family event and needing more hours. She said that as soon as she had another position available she would be calling me. She also mentioned that she had two nurses leaving when they find NP positions elsewhere. My thing is that isn't guaranteed. I saw that there was another LD FT position open under the same organization but different campus/hospital, and different manager. The only issue is the campus is further (32-40 mins, 26 miles) and their NICU is level III. Whereas, the other position I applied to is 20 minutes (13 miles) from me and has a a level IV NICU. Should I wait on that call or apply to the other position?
  3. I am about to apply to East Carolina's nursing school as a transfer student for spring 2015. I just have two classes left: Chemistry II and Nutrition. I am taking these this summer but not doing so well in chemistry. I am trying to get a lot done this summer. I have to take the NLN-PAX exam in august after my summer classes and I am also going to challenge the CNA I exam so that I'll have another point when I apply. On top of that I am working 2 jobs (about 30 hrs a week). My GPA is currently a 3.8...I haven't gotten below a B in any of my classes. But currently I am not doing so well in my chemistry class (I'm getting a C). I was wondering If I still have a good chance of getting into the nursing program at ECU. You get 9 points if your GPA is a 3.8 or above, 8 points if its a 3.6-3.7 and so on. I am also applying to UNCW next month but am unsure if I will get in due to my TEAS scores. ECU is my first choice..Thanks for any advice.
