Swedish Institute???
Are you trying to get in for September or January? I've heard mostly bad things about St. Paul's.

I could be wrong, but I think the transfer credit policy is $50 per course not per credit and they will charge you a maximum of $150 but you can still transfer more than three classes. According to their website: "A maximum of 50% of overall course work necessary for graduation from the program student in which the student is enrolled at the Swedish Institute may be accepted for transfer."

Swedish Institute???
Agreed. The tuition is steep. I'm hoping to soften the blow by having most if not all of my non-nursing classes done before I start. Have the rules changed about transferring credit?

Swedish Institute???
The other school I was considering is a community college in my home town in Arizona. But the school just had its ACEN accreditation yanked and it does NOT have a good reputation! Everyone is always saying how for profit schools are bad but I guess I just assumed ACEN accreditation is the most important thing? Maybe I'm wrong? Just wish I knew more about this school! Have you applied anywhere else?

New Grad: grunt work or unique abroad experience?
This thread is so old but I'm bumping it :) I'll be starting nursing school soon and have been having some doubts recently about getting through NS because I have little interest in traditional bedside nursing. I too have always been more interested in the public health policy and social work side of nursing. It would be my dream come true to work with developing communities abroad!!! Anyway, thank you to the posters of this thread for giving me a bit of reassurance that such a thing is possible :) If anyone has any advice I would freakin love to hear it!!! :)

Has anyone attended this school or know anything about it? I know they have recently become ACEN accredited but there doesn't seem to be much information on here about it since it's a newer program. Any info is much appreciated!!!

ACEN or Regional Accreditation?
I'm not sure about that, I will have to call and ask both programs tomorrow. I did hear a rumor though that one program was once a candidate for ACEN accreditation but is not anymore. I have taken all my prerequisite courses thus far through CLEP exams and community colleges. Could that make a BSN transition easier?

ACEN or Regional Accreditation?
Hi everyone, this is my first time posting on this site but I've been lurking here for a while now and have read a lot of useful information! I have just been accepted to two ADN programs but I'm having trouble deciding because of their accreditation. One program is ACEN accredited but the school is not regionally accredited. The other is from a regionally accredited college but the nursing program is not ACEN or CCNE accredited. I would like to eventually get my BSN and be able to work outside of New York if I need to. Which one should I choose? Which type of accreditation is more important to employers/bsn programs? Both programs would cost me about the same. Thanks! :)
