  1. According to Ms. Boles the LW full time is based on space available from the Spring 2017 semester 1 class. She has to wait and see how many students from semester 1 will not make it to semester 2 then fill in the empty seats with transition students. There's also an accelerated track, 30 transitions students will have a guaranteed seat. It's completely online and except for clinicals which are every Saturday. I would love to do the accelerated track but I'm unavailable on Saturdays. I plan on working while in school, I'll adjust my schedule at my job in order to give myself time to study.
  2. I'm excited and nervous at the same time because I'm so close to finding out whether or not I made it into semester 2. The first day of class is May 16, the class meets on Tuesdays from 4pm-7pm everything else is online. There's 36 students registered for the class. Most likely we'll be doing skills check-offs on Tuesdays.
  3. As the time goes by I get more anxious! I check my school email like a mad woman and allnurses.com in hopes of finding more info but no luck! Lol. For the intro to professional nursing course we will have a list of 100 skills to complete and they must be completed by the deadline August 1st in order to start the 2nd semester for Fall 2017. Also for any student entering the program at Pbsc be prepared to have $1,000 (YIKES!) to pay for the RN book package, the package will carry you throughout nursing school.
  4. The test was not bad at all, Its similar to the Nclex exam. The material that I used to study was the Nclex 3500 CD along with the Saunders Nclex book (Fundamentals section). I remember seeing a couple of simple drug calculation questions. Remember the drugs Nitroglycerin, Aspirin, digoxin, coumadin, you should know about the different routes of medication administration: subcutaneous, intramuscular, sublingual, z-track etc. Know the parts of a stethoscope (bell, diaphragm), know where to place the stethoscope in order to listen to heart sounds, therapeutic communication, safety questions, and basic med surg questions, that's all I can remember from the exam, I hope that helps. The reason why I didn't choose the accelerated option is because the clinicals are every Saturday and I'm a Seventh Day Adventist, If I get accepted for the fall term I would take the lecture online to cut down on the days I would actually have to drive to school.
  5. Yes, I took the Ace exam last summer , and I'm going for the generic option.
  6. Update: I registered for the intro to professional nursing course for the summer term, this is the last step before I find out if I got accepted for the Fall term second semester.
  7. If you did good in Pharm for LPN school you will be fine taking another class with Pharm. The pharmacology class was like a refresher for me and the questions were very simple .
  8. I'm also hoping to start Fall 2017, my situation is a little different I'm an Lpn going for the transition program, but in general I know the entire process is very nerve-racking. Thanks for starting this thread!
  9. I haven't had any luck finding transition students but I'll continue to update on the process as I move along.
  10. I just completed the pharmacology course and the next course I have to take is Intro to Professional nursing , they aren't doing the class for spring 2017 anymore because the Lpn students would have to start semester 2 during the summer which is only 12 weeks and it would set them up for failure being that semester 2 is the most challenging semester in the program. I'll keep you posted on anything new from the school.
  11. Hi everyone, I'm an LPN going for the transition at Palm Beach State College. I haven't had any luck finding stories about transition students at this school. If there is anyone out there who did the transition can you please tell me about your experience from testing to getting the acceptance letter? About me: I've been working as an LPN for a year, I took the Hesi math and NACE1 and passed. The nursing program specialist added me to semester 2 Full-Time for fall 2017. **I just want to know the process you went through before getting accepted in the program. Thanks!
