Honestly, this is a sacrifice that you have to make in order to provide your child/children with a better future. I have a 9 year old and I start my clincals for a BSN program next month. I also work and I am a single mother. I completed my associates degree as well as my medical assistant degree when my daughter was younger. It wasn't easy but it was definitely worth it in the end. There is no better feeling than walking across the stage to receive my diploma and seeing my daughter cheer me on TWICE! The third time will definitely be a charm because once I become a nurse, all of the puzzle pieces of my life will finally fit together!! Keep pushing, and remember that you are doing this for your child. It is better to do it while he/she is still young and probably wont recall you ever being absent in their life. Secure his/future NOW! XOXOXOOXOX

I definitely see where you are coming from. You should look at it as an investment into your future. They offer many different scholarships as well. I received two myself. Explore your financial options.

The time will pass.....trust me! I think taking Spanish will give you an edge over other applicants once you are applying for nursing jobs. Go for it!!

I am also a transfer non traditional who had to start from scratch time and time again. It's frustrating but it can be done! I start my nursing courses next month and I finally feel like all of the bumps in the road were worth it. You got this!!! I am a 29 year old who is the mother of a 9 year old baby girl so I can relate to you on that note as well. We have to do it for our little ones. They are counting on us!!! XXXOOOXO

I'm glad to hear that your first semester has been a success!!!! Your grades are flawless!!!!! I too, am wrapping up my fall semester. I am in my final semester before I start clincals as well as fundamentals, health assessment, pharmacology, transcultural and dosage calculations. I am also looking forward to this Christmas break. I need it!!!

I also got accepted to Monte. I choose CNR because it is a BSN program as opposed to an ADN. A lot of the hospitals require a BSN now so instead of searching for a RN to BSN program after graduation, I decided to just go for it. Just some food for thought when you make your decision.

As long as you are on your p's and q's you should be fine. What are your other options?! Keep me posted with your decision!

I actually like the school so far.......the professors seem to be passionate about what they teach and also seem to care about their students. I will say that the other faculty is disorganized which is extremely frustrating. Are you doing the accelerated or non traditional track?!

I started this semester so yes I am a new student. I don't start my actual nursing courses and clinicals until next month. How about you?!

I am a medical assistant who is in pursuit of my BSN. I graduated in 2011 and in phlebotomy class we definitely practiced on one another. We had to have 40 successful "sticks" in order to move on in the program. It prepared me to work in the field for sure!

Sorry for the late response!!!! I had trouble with my log in information which didn't allow me to access this site. It would have been nice to meet you at the orientation!! There were to many people for me to know who exactly you were though. Lol. I am starting my clinicals in the spring unfortunately. I would still like to meet you!!
