Stanford New Graduate RN Residency Program Summer 2015
That's so many! What the heck is going on in that unit? Expansion? Major budget inflow? Its certainly good news for those who may have missed out on the first round of offers to get another chance! BTW anyone gone for their medical yet and can tell me what to expect eg how long it takes....etc.

Yes ITA was my 2nd offer but I declined. I agree that Oncology was super nice and that had a lot to do with my accepting their offer. Let me know how you fare AnjelaJB - I'm rooting for you!

Hi AngelaJB, I asked that question during my interview and as much as they'd love to bring on 2 new grads they are only have the green light for one at this intake. I also interviewed for ITA & E1 who are each hiring 1 as well. Who did you interview for?

Eek just got the call this morning with 2 offers and chose Oncology (FGround). To those wondering, you are given 24hrs to decide but I only needed an hour or so to peel myself from the ceiling! I am still in total disbelief. Congratulations again to everyone so far who has received the call and Good Luck to all of you waiting with fingers crossed.

Congratulations jbl123! I'm just had my last interview today so will most likely be playing the waiting game for a few days yet. So a question....are you still waiting to hear from the other units you interviewed with, or have those units all returned their top picks? I'm just wondering if you have the option to pick and choose in case more than one unit chose you.

Hey Greyiris34 - is that tomorrow Tuesday 7/28 or next Tuesday 8/4? I was told I would be interviewing with BMT but have yet to hear from them. The other units called on Friday so I'm getting a little anxious...

I've pretty much given up on this one too Chilipepper554, yet surely there must be an alternate list as Oct is a long way away and newly hired candidates can get offers elsewhere. It would have been nice to at least alert those who didn't make it past the personality assessment as it would eliminate a lot of false hope.

I interviewed today also and everyone in my group rocked! The standard is definitely high and I think the questions reflected that. I agree with Greyiris34 that for the most part the questions were straightforward but one of our group must've got the short end of the stick as she got a couple of gnarly ones. Good luck to everyone who made it this far and hopefully Greyiris34, we'll both get calls on Friday!

Pizzaman25 what a nightmare for your classmates! I hope they all get it worked out soon. Thanks for the luck I'm so nervous, will be leaving soon eek! Anyway I too have been doing Kaplan, just Qbank - I didn't go to their classes - & a couple of test bank phone apps. My SATA statistics are not good and I keep hearing we are to expect a lot of those. My inability to do well on those is fueling most of my nervousness right now but I am finding comfort in the fact that 85% of us will pass the first time. I can't wait for this to be over!

Take a deep breath Chilipepper554 you are OK! Stanford is aware of the difficulties of getting your NCLEX done within the time frame & I've heard they are very understanding of the fact that there will be some who won't quite make the 28th. As long as you're very close to it I'm sure it will be OK - if it was some time mid Aug they might not be. If it makes you feel better I'm cramming up a storm here & am nervous that I haven't prepared for my interview next week, my NCLEX is tomorrow, so I have the weekend to pull it out for Stanford, wish me luck!

It didn't change - its still says "In Review" I'm not tripping over it, I got the call so I'm good. Pizza24 did you at least get a chance to interview with UCLA? If so, how did it go?
-
Stanford New Graduate RN Residency Program Summer 2015
Mine still says "In Review" or at least it did last time I looked. My understanding of "In Process" means that your application is still in the running and that they may require further information, in which case they will call you with questions. In other words don't give up hope just yet.

Congratulations!!! I'm hearing the same thing from some of my classmates! Weird how it took so long between calls - but who cares, you got the interview and that's all that matters. What are your areas of interest nursing wise?

Stanford New Graduate RN Residency Program Summer 2015
I'm sure there are others feeling the same way you are xx_remix, & yes I have very minimal hospital work experience as a lowly lab tech which I doubt has very little bearing on my getting the call. Do you have a competitive GPA and resume and did you answer the essay question fully? This is a position for new grads so I think those are the things that count here. Good Luck and remember, until you get the rejection email you're still in the game

Good Luck Greyiris34, I'll cross a couple of toes for you, my fingers are already taken! Any body else out there who got the call today?

Yes I got my call bright and early this morning - I was still half asleep, lol! I'm interested in oncology & ICU but will take anything. I was told they will post the hiring units at the time of the interview and we are to pick our top 3 from the list. So Greyiris34, I take it they called you too?

UC DAVIS RN Residency July 2015
Hi Iferrill, from what I was told, all applications that pass the personality test and 1st review by HR are passed onto the respective units. You're right in that not all units hire with each intake but apparently enough do to to keep this program going. But to answer your specific question, each unit will consider "similar experiences" and to be honest I didn't question that further. I'm guessing that means if you precepted in L&D you won't be getting a call to interview for the critical care unit.

UC DAVIS RN Residency July 2015
Hi Everyone, according to HR job offers for the new grad program are based on what unit you precepted in which is why they don't have a separate section on the app asking for your choices. It's a little limiting but I suppose they want you to have had a taste of what you're getting yourself into. BTW I applied too and haven't heard a thing.
