Hello fellow nurses! I am new here, but I've been reading a lot of threads and articles here in allnurses. Here's my dilemma.. I am from the Philippines. I graduated and passed the local board last 2011 and was not able to practice it since then. I wasn't even able to attend the oathtaking since I have to work right away to support my brother and pay off debts left to support my studies. Like many others, I worked in the BPO industry that helped me a lot with my financial issues. And though I am working in a diff industry, my heart and passion is still with the nursing profession. I always love nursing and always thinking of going back but it has neen three years since I passed and haven't used my skills since then. I have tried to search for a refresher course but I dont know where to start. A lot of hospitals offer refresher course with pay but its not a guarantee that you will be absorbed. I really want to pursue my career and I hope I can get an advise on where should I start and what specialization I can take or if you know a hospitals who accept nurses like me. I am a passionate nurse and I am willing to give all of my best to succeed and help others. Thank you!
