Got my rejection letter today to the acute care PNP program. I'm so glad the wait is over. The whole process and lack of organization really put a sour taste in my mouth. I was really worried about how I would make a decision had I gotten in. I'm very excited to start at Duke in August! I can't say enough good things about my experience I've had with them thus far. Best of luck to everyone still waiting on Penn.

Still no word. At this point I have so many mixed emotions. I'm very anxious to hear but at the same time I am very disappointed. I had such high expectations for the number one nursing school.

Still no word on the Acute Care Peds program. My last contact with the program director said the admissions committee was meeting this week. Hope to hear soon.

I spoke to the ACPNP program director Monday. She was very apologetic and said it shouldn't be taking this long and hopefully the admissions committee will have the rest of their decisions made by the end of the week. From what she said it also sounds like most of the spots for the specialty have been filled. Maybe I'll know Friday??? I can only hope. I would recommend reaching out to the program director of your specialty if you have questions.

And the wait continues... Still no email :-(

My first degree was from Syracuse University in Biology and Health Policy (GPA 3.32), my nursing degree is from Russell Sage (in Upstate New York (GPA 3.68)). I've been a PICU nurse for two years and work part time doing respite care for a family with children who have special needs. I also work part time over the summer as a nurse at a summer camp for children with special needs. I've been accepted to Duke's online Acute Care PNP program that starts in August. Waiting to hear from Penn before I make my final decision. Hopefully we will hear any day now.

I received an email March 22 from the faculty member to schedule the Interview.

Hi all! I applied to Upenn's Pediatric Acute Care NP/Chronic concentration. My interview was 4/8. She said they would be meeting to make final decisions regarding the acute pediatric specialties "in the next few weeks" (not sure if they also decide primary Peds) and decisions would be out "shortly after". It's been two weeks now, I'm assuming we will know by next week or the first week in May??? I was looking at a thread from last year and they found out May 14th, really hoping it's before then!
