Options for Bridging
I graduated from Seneca College in 2017 from the Practical Nursing program with a GPA under 3.0, I wrote my CPRNE exam passed and started working as an RPN. I have been working as an RPN a year and a half now, and have been thinking about doing my RN. My graduating GPA was really low, 2.6. Are there any options for me? has any one upgraded their marks after graduating and still got accepted into a bridging program? has any one done bridging through Athabasca? Is there hope ?

CPNRE Study Tips?
I wrote the exam in October of 2017 and passed it. my best advice would be to study study study, what I used was the "Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-PN Examination 6th ed" and it helped so much, the only thing is you really have to be careful with the lab values because it does use american ones. I read the whole book and it really helped with the knowledge aspect, I also did the questions at the end of each chapter, I just didn't do the comprehensive exam at the end of the book. After doing that I then went through both the 4th and 5th ed of the CPNRE prep guide, which was very helpful as the well, the rationales were very detailed and explained everything. I did buy the predictor test and honestly I thought that it was a waste of money because its very discouraging and in my opinion is much harder than the actual cpnre exam. now for actually writing the exam, depending on when you do have it, make sure you eat breakfast, relax your mind the day before, DO NOT CRAM. make sure you use ADPIE, ABC'S and maslow hierarchy of needs and I guarantee you will pass. Throughout the 3 weeks, try to study as much as you can, but just do not over work your brain, if you could go through some of the things that you learned in school, that will help you out as well. I don't want to tell you if the exam was easy or hard because I don't think that will be of much help. but you made it this far, you got through nursing school. good luck

having to decline a job because of distance
I'm so upset. I'm a new nurse grad, I went to a job interview last week for a nursing position at a long term care ( my mom drove me), and it went so well I basically got the job on the spot, my references got called and everything. but the only thing is i didn't realise how far it was by bus. if I had a car it would be an easy route (30 minuate drive) , but because I don't I would have to bus and it would take 3 hours. I'm upset because it's already so hard to get a job as new grad, I don't have money for a car *sigh*. anyone else have to decline a job because of distance, and how did you get over it

Trying to find work
Any other Nursing graduates having a hard time looking for work? I Graduated from Practical Nursing in Summer 2017 and even before I finished school I sent a bunch of resumes out, and got no call backs. In November I passed my CPNRE AND Jurisprudence exam and I thought that would help me with my Job search and it hasn't. I've been looking for work for 4 months now and haven't got hired anywhere, The other day I had an interview on a palliative care unit, I thought it went good, but I didn't get a call back. , I've applied to hospitals, LTCs and Clinics. I've gotten an offer from an agency, but I would have to work as a PSW for a couple of weeks, and then be hired as an RPN. Can someone please give me some advice, I feel so discouraged

Advice on Nursing Schools
personally I think the school that really prepares you for the CPNRE License Exam is Sheridan, cause I've heard some really good reviews about it, but its also competitive to get in as well. I didn't go to Sheridan I ended up going to Seneca which is still a good school. Yeah George Brown is very competitive because it's in the city as well. I think going straight to RPN is much simpler because even if you do go with the PSW route at the end of the day you aren't guaranteed into the RPN program.

Sept-Oct 2017 CPRNE
@mann26sandhu,BSN, Yeah I just bought it, I also read the Saunders comprehensive Review book. I'm going to go over my notes to refresh my memory, then go through the prep guide. A lot of people I have spoken to are saying it's helpful. @Chatnel what resources did you use to help you study?
