What is the expectation for a psych nurse?
Hi, I'm a new graduate and I've been blessed with working opportunity as a psych nurse. I'll start my orientation next month and I'm so excited for that :) During my psych rotation, I noticed the nurses just sat at nursing stations and passed medication. I do believe nothing is wrong with that as long as patients are safe and alive. However, I'm wondering if psych nurses could really make a difference in patient's life? The reason why psych is so appealing to me is because of the stigma surrounding patients w psych issue and I want to be able to care and treat them w respect. So please advise. Thank you :)

Missionary nurse
Hello everyone, I'm a second semester student nurse who is highly interested to be a missionary nurse. I plan to go to Africa or Central America upon graduation, but in the meantime I would love to volunteer in one of those countries during a short summer break to see if I could do this for long term. I'm wondering if anyone with missionary experience or the one who knows nurses in missionary duties could give me some details on how to raise funds? This might be a silly question, but I'm a broke student. I don't really care about the pay as long as I could meet my daily primary needs (like food or a place to live) and I could really help those in need. I heard that some people could even manage to volunteer in Kenya's hospital/clinic by directly contacting them without going through some organizations because these organizations could be very costly. If anyone has this information, please kindly reply this discussion. I would really love to hear this from you guys. Thank you so much and have a great weekends!

ADN waiting list *sigh*
I was studying pretty hard to get into ADN program in Houston and yay it's paid off! my cumulative GPA is 3.84 and GPA for science is 4.0 with average HESI 88.5. Here is the break down for HESI exam: math 92 A&P 88 Grammar 88 Reading 86 So I was pretty confident with my application, but today just got an email that I am on ADN waiting list. I am pretty demoralized, but all I can do now is just praying and believing that God has a beautiful plan for me. Does anyone have the same experience? :)
