@SweetDream, Thank you so much for your reply. I agree with you about NYU being possibly worth the extra cost since I also want to go back to school again after. And yes this university seems so much more organized that the cheaper schools, and we will get some great connections! I've also heard NYU grads get hired pretty quickly from the nearby hospitals after graduation! That would be amazing, lol

Hi guys, I'm currently applying for a loan for the tuition. Is anyone else concerned about how much student loan debt this school will put us in?? I'm getting kind of worried at how much debt we'll have compared to income as a nurse and am unsure if this school will be worth all that debt?

@SweetDream, on my Albert student center only about half of my schedule is posted so far. I guess it's taking advising a long time to figure it out for everyone

@sborn I am paying for NYU myself also and was not awarded very much money from NYU in the financial aid package (my EFC on FAFSA was the lowest score possible...). NYU has these outside scholarships we can apply to: https://nursing.nyu.edu/admissions/scholarships-awards and I also heard that there is a scholarship app on the app store (iPhone), not sure what the app is called but can probably be searched for so I'm going to apply to scholarships on there too. Besides that I am going to apply for a private student loan to cover the rest of tuition and cost of living, possibly through Sallie Mae or Discover. If you are a NY state resident you can also apply to TAP for state aid. I hope this helps!

Like kmichellex asked, I would also like to know what the schedule is like. Are clinicals two, 12-hour shifts each week? (Because isn't every other week SIM - so is there 24 hours of SIM on those weeks?) Should we keep our text books to study for the NCLEX? Thank you!!

Hi! Regarding notification dates of when NYU sends acceptances, I saw someone post this link on a past year's forum and it says we will begin to be notified in April. Scroll to the bottom of the webpage and it says Notification Dates and Applicant Type for 2nd Degree Nursing Transfer Applicants

Yes, definitely call if you have any doubt about items arriving. I emailed with no response, but on the phone they were very helpful (and fortunately they received my LOR, phewww!!). Good luck everyone!!

@alypol I'm getting nervous too about my LOR not arriving.. I emailed that address tonight and I got an automated response saying that they received my email and will get back to me. I hope that is a correct email because regular deadline is already on Thursday!

Hi everyone! I've been following NYU's ABSN threads for awhile and finally decided to make an account! I am applying to Fall 2015 also. All of your stats look great! Mine personally are 3.71 GPA for undergrad and 3.77 GPA for grad, both in psychology. I am a registered CNA and also volunteer at a hospital. I am currently finishing pre reqs and am really excited/nervous to hear from NYU! Good luck to everyone!
