  1. How extensive was the background check on care.com? When I read reviews about the site, someone said that the caregivers pretty much are able to put whatever they want for their background check. That turned me off from using them, however, that could have just been a dissatisfied customer. I'm interested in hearing your experience
  2. I'm starting nursing school this fall with 2 young kids. My husband's job makes him unreliable also so I know how you feel. I don't live near any family and I feel much more comfortable knowing my children will be at a daycare vs hiring a stranger to watch them. With that said, I had to get a little creative. Is it possible to have a family member stay with you during the days you have class? Could you take your kids to a friend or trustworthy neighbor's house and let them drop your children off at daycare? It's never too early I start thinking of a childcare plan. I hope it all works out for you.
  3. I struggle with the same plight. However, I know my children will be fine and that I need to do this for me. At the same time, I'll spend as much quality time with them as I can. I don't want me going to school to be the reason I can't savor this time with them.
  4. You can definitely do it. There's a lot of memorization involved so repetition is key. I did it last summer and it really wasn't that bad. Those 10 weeks fly by
  5. I agree with what the pps have said. It is an individual decision. I am currently pregnant (due 6 weeks prior to classes starting) and have son who is a toddler. I am starting school this fall. I know it will be a huge juggling act for the first few months, however, my husband is extremely supportive and will do whatever he can to help. Due to the nature of my husband's career (military), waiting to go to school would likely be more difficult than getting it over with right now. Like you, I have already completed all of my general ed requirements and I am very determined to get this done. I personally believe that you can do anything you put your mind to. You know what needs to be done, so you have a choice to make. Either you can make it work with your pregnancy or you can wait until after your pregnancy to start. Only you know what you can handle.
