  1. Greetings, I've been an LPN for about three years now. I have enrolled in the Baptist School of Nursing program in Little Rock. Currently, I am trying to hurdle myself into some of the "recommended" Prereqs for the program at Pulaski. I am in need of guidance. I want to be an RN and return to school but I am stressed over the money issues. I have to work during school and my prereqs. My current job is quite a sticky situation. I work in a clinic and my doctor told me if I wanted to work less hours I should find another job, if I wanted a raise I need to find another job and he fired the last nurse who requested to work part time due to her recent childbirth. Jobs as an LPN for part time work seem to be a needle in a hay stack. I am in need of guidance. Where should I look for work that will allow part time and flexibility as my nursing school begins? I"ve searched the paper classifieds, called job recuiters and have put in many applications online. Where do you find part time LPN jobs? Are there just not any out there? Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places? Stressed in Arkansas.
  2. Okay, my book has totally confused me, febrile means they have a temperature, right? Afebrile ('a' means without, not having) is a normal temperature or under normal temperature? I know 98.6 is the normal temperature for most people, but when does it get abnormal/febrile? 99.0? 99.1? 101? Ugh. my book just says it means someone has a temperature. I looked on the internet and all i got was "take your temp to see if you are ovulating....uhhh NO!!!" please help, what is the temp range for F and C? :imbar
  3. I just learned how to do a bed bath today, it was a crash course but none of us were naked by any means!!!! We all were allowed to wear shorts and a tshirt, the teaching part didn't include water...thankfully the darn room is like an ice box. But the check off will be with water...i gotta practice more, i dropped my bucket twice and was thankful I wasn't using water yet. LOL I would personally, tell you instructor you feel uncomfortable about being so exposed to your classmates or I would tell the director of the department. If at any point you feel uncomfortable, stop, think, and then realize there is always another way of doing this.
