  1. Well unlike Janacc my application process went a lot different. I didn't have an interview and one day received a call that I was accepted. It was a simple for me due to the fact that I didn't have any transferring credits.
  2. Hello Angela, I currently attend Chamberlain College of Nursing Houston and I love it. Although the price of the school is very expensive overall it's a good school. I started last September so it's about to mark 1 year. I haven't actually started nursing courses yet and I am currently working on my prerequisites however I like the school. As for you wanting to know about the hours of classes, yes they do have classes between 8-5. But if I'm not mistaken I'm pretty sure they have night classes too. And they even have classes before 8 and after 5 I believe. When it comes to the credit hours per session I think the MAX classes you can take a session is 3. I've never seen any classes exceed 3 but then again maybe you should call the front desk and they can help you with that.
  3. I would be more than happy to assist you!
  4. I have a patient that has a foli and the doctor has order to start bladder training does anyone know what that would entail?
  5. Get yourself a ACT study book from Barnes & Nobles. Time yourself as they would time you on the test and take your time!
  6. Go for your RN! It'll be worth it in the long run.
  7. In every section? So lone star counts A&p, bio, and chemistry? Wow
  8. If you can continue to help her without if affecting you and your school work, than go for it! But for you to say that you don't think that she can make it through the program is kinda mean and you don't have that power to say. I know you don't mean it in a mean way but always let out positive vibes in everything that you do, because you never know what tomorrow holds.
  9. What is the passing hesi score with lone star?
  10. Google online practice HESI and make sure your purchase that book. Focus on the math, grammar and reading sections!
  11. I'm happy I came along your post because I think I can help you with this. When I was preparing to take my HESI A2 entrance into Chamberlain I was really worried because I wasn't familiar with Anatomy. So I spent a lot of my time trying to go over planes and different things along those lines. I also was stressed about Biology and Chemistry because its been a while since I took those classes, however no need to worry about any of those! Yes, I said it what you score on those sections DO NOT MATTER. It doesn't get counted with your score. To be completely honest with you, what you need to focus on is: MATH, GRAMMAR AND READING. When it comes to math, theres a lot of ratios, and basic addition problems. Don't think that it's simple and its something you just simply overlook especially ratios because they can be a bit tricky at times. Another big thing that you should take time to study is roman numerals because there are a lot of problems regarding roman numerals. So focus on those type of problems when you're studying. Grammar is also a big tricky so make sure you read the HESI A2 books grammar sections very carefully. Lastly, reading overall is pretty simple just take your time. Understand what they ask you when it comes to main ideas and topic sentences. You'll do fine! Don't stress yourself out about it, its very simple and easy. I think the program is good, I've been here for almost a year now and overall I like the school a lot. They really care about their students and the SUCCESS of the students, unlike some professors at universities. Only down side about the program is the money. $$$$$$$$$. It gives you a run for your money I can tell you that! Feel free to ask any other questions about the Hesi and school in general, I'm more than happy to help you :) Best of Luck.
  12. I have found all your post extremely helpful! Thank you so much!
  13. I am currently a student at Chamberlain. Overall so far I think its a great school the only downer about it is that it is very very very expensive and I can't stress that enough. This school literally breaks my bank, but at the end of the day the teachers are great, the staff is great and I wouldn't want to be anywhere but here. I know people that have graduated and they haven't had trouble finding a job after graduation. I honestly think when it comes to nursing its all about connections and people you know, once you've gotten your degree and passed your boards then you're good to go!
  14. Reading this gave me shivers! I really appreciate you sharing this, because there are people out there who needed to read this and I'm so happy that I came across this. Yes, keeping God first and believing you can overcome. Congratulations Jessica! I wish you all the best.
  15. Advice? Don't give up. You can do it! Don't feel discouraged, just by reading your post I can tell you are very willing and passionate about nursing! You know what they say, where there is a will there is a way. There are other options when it comes to applying for nursing schools just check around and I'm sure you'll be fine.
