  1. Recently switched from a LTC to home care for clients with various forms of paraplegia. With their inability to regulate body temps, the houses are unbearable. My face gets so sweaty (well, all of me but issue is face!) that I am literally dripping sweat onto them. Talk about mortification! I feel so disgusting and find that it distracts me ("oh no.. going to sweat on her.. oh no.. there's a drop.. oh no") when providing care. Please, please help!
  2. Thanks everyone! I had my first orientation/shift yesterday and it went just fine. The caregiver I was relieving was nice enough to jot down notes for me to follow and left her number if I had questions. I do have orientations lined up for my other clients as well that should be easier as they are actually orientations.. yesterday she spent about 15 mins showing me around/explaining and then I was on my own. Thanks again for the input!!
  3. After I transfer someone and realize I have stinky armpit smell on my arm - ewwww! It always seems to stick with me the entire shift, no matter how many times I wash!
