  1. Have you considered applying to other ADN programs here in CA? Most (at least here in the LA area) have collab programs with the CSUs that allow you to complete the BSN in just one extra year, and it ends up being cheaper than going straight to a CSU. Your stats are not bad at all, you may have luck with programs that go based on points rather than lottery. If you keep up the good grades you shouldn't have a problem getting into a CSU pathway program.
  2. Just got my e-mail...wait list #116 lol. Good thing I already committed to another school.
  3. Most people I know who became accountants ended up switching careers. Most became teachers. Just saying. But you might like it! The two are so different though, before even taking classes for either, I would try shadowing a nurse for a bit. Not sure if this is possible for an accountant, so see if you can speak to one about what their days entail.
  4. Hi! I decided I will be attending! See you next month!
  5. Sorry, I'm not sure! I thought all schools included the English GPA. You could try contacting yours and see if they could point you in the right direction. Good luck!
  6. Glendale has an Excel formula on their site where you can plug in your numbers. Glendale Community College : Selection Process Keep in mind some schools will have different criteria; e.g. including chemistry or nutrition in the science GPA. Most schools just seem to use anatomy, physio and micro though.
  7. Not yet, but that's okay, I've already confirmed my spot at SMC! So nervous and so excited!
  8. Hey congrats on getting into LACC! When did you hear from them? I haven't heard anything yet. Maybe they are going alphabetically lol. Anyway, if the NCLEX rates are comparable for all 3, and I know all of them have the collab program with CSULA, I would choose based on how close the campus is to you. If you don't have the option of taking metro to PCC or LACC, I feel like it wouldn't be worth it to add traffic to the list of things to stress out about. Less time sitting in traffic = more time to study(or relax ). My two cents!
  9. I submitted my app sometime in February, this was my first attempt.
  10. I got into my top choice SMC, so I will probably give up my seat at GCC. Hopefully that gives someone who wants it on the alternate list a shot.
  11. Did you hear back from PCC? Got into GCC, nothing yet from PCC.
  12. Check your e-mails! I just received my acceptance!
  13. I'm waiting on all of them haha...LACC, Pierce, Valley, Glendale, Pasadena, LATTC. LACC is my other top choice, so we'll see what happens. Leaning toward SMC though.
  14. That's awesome, congrats!!! I think I am going to accept as well. So nice they let us know early on, can breathe a little easier now. :) Are you waiting on anywhere else?
  15. Just got the email, I'm in too!!! Congrats @wennan! I'm so excited, smc is one of my top choices!
  16. NLN-PAX was last week, anyone hear back from SMC yet? Freaking out a bit...
  17. waiting is making me insane!
  18. They told me the same thing. Really frustrating! They said I didn't make the 75% cut score, which can't be true as I've met other school's cut score of 80%!
  19. Ugh, they are putting my app through a second review because they miscalculated my Chancellor's Formula score. @holamargarita congrats on getting the invite!
  20. Yep, the chancellor's formula is a statewide thing, and I don't think they would post that spreadsheet if that wasn't what they used! :) Glendale is actually on the low end having 75% as a cut score. I know Valley and LACC require 80%, which I believe comes out to a 3.0 avg for each category with no repetitions. But again, they might calculate your GPA differently than you'd think, like with transferring quarter units to semester. And some schools don't use + or - for GPA either!
  21. I applied to both but haven't received anything yet. Just the receipt I got in person when turning in my app at Glendale! Have you sent in your TEAS scores yet? Also, Glendale has a link to an excel thing where you can plug in your stats and it tells you what your Chancellor's Formula score is. Depends if they calculate your GPA the same way you did though, I guess.
