I lack social skills and confidence. Is nursing a possibility for me?
I think you know yourself better than any of us do. If your gut instinct is telling you, nursing may not be a good fit for you than you should listen to it. I think it would be very detrimental to your already very low self confidence if you attempt it and then fail. Have you considered Rad Tech or Medical Lab Tech? I think those professions would be a better fit for you. Also, remember that just because nursing may not be a good fit for you now, does not mean it will always be that way. People grow and change over time. The person you will be in 10 years is not the person you are now.

Please let us know what you find out. Not being able to use the pell grant for the program would really be horrible.

Teateabo3, when you say the pell grant wont pay, are you talking about the cna class nurs 140 specifically or the rest of the nursing program in general?

JJC Nursing Program: Fall of 2015
Paul told me that as long as your on the health care worker registry as a cna (even if your certification is expired) then you do not have to take the cna classes.

And the survey says? To all home care nurses who switched from hospital.........
I thought maybe I would want to do home health one day but I've read so many stories of nurses working 60 plus hours a week and always feeling like they are working that Ive had second thoughts. I own my own business and one of the reasons I want to get into nursing, is to feel like after I clock out, my time is my own. When you have your own business, it feels like your are always and i mean always working. yuck.
