  1. I need help! I've failed my skills test twice. When I practice my vitals and medication administration by myself I do fine. But when I test out for it, I get so nervous and I forget things and I rush through things. Any tips on how to over come this?
  2. This year will be my first year starting my nursing program. Even while taking my pre-nursing classes, I was always studying. The director of nursing told us that we have to organize our time. I don't have any kids or anything but I don't have time for myself either. I'm always studying, and when I'm not, I feel guilty and feel like I should be studying. Any tips or advice on how I can make time for myself and study?
  3. Getting accepted to any nursing school can be a very tough and emotional process. Yes, it is very competitive and at times you will feel that you may not have a chance to get in. What I did was I applied at schools that were further away from me. Since I lived in the cities, I applied to a nursing program that was about 3.5 hours away from me. Because it's so far and less competitive, I got in. You have to do what ever it takes for you to reach your goal. No, I didn't have straight A's and my GPA is about 3.4. I've also recently quitted my job to put more effort into school. You got this. You can do it. And what ever you do, just don't give up.
  4. When I applied to the school it didn't ask that on the application. After I got accepted to the program, I was going through the check list and thats when I found out that they will be doing a background check to make sure I'm able to do clinicals.
  5. I thought it was sealed. I also tried to apply for a permit that required to have a background check and this came up. When I goto the bureau of criminal apprehension and pull up my record, nothing comes up under myself.
  6. I've recently been accepted to a nursing school in Minnesota and I've been loosing sleep over the background check I have to do in a few months. I have a gross misdemeanor terroristic threat when I was 15. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Will I be denied from clinicals and licensing? For those who have been in this situation, if you have to fill out an application, did you put yes when it asked if you have been convicted of a crime? Please help.
