I could use a pep talk lol. So I went to meet with my academic advisor today in regards to taking the necessary steps to get myself ready to apply to nursing school. She informed me that I, pretty much, need to be pulling straight A's in all of my pre-reqs to even have a chance to get in. While I know the nursing program is competitive, this is a little discouraging. I haven't taken a college course since I was 19 which was almost 7 years ago. I've taken medical terminology, speech, english comp and biology w/ lab. My GPA at my last college was 3.69 which is great but not perfect like my advisor is telling me it needs to be. I did have a B or two. Since its been awhile, I'm not exactly confident in my book smarts, especially when it comes to math as I struggled with it in high school. Any word of advice? I'm still going to put my best foot forward but I'm a little nervous of being told that all of my hard work isn't good enough. Did you have straight A's when you applied to nursing school?
