July 1st seems sort of early? but I guess if they know all the candidates are 100% sure they are attending maybe so? But in my opinion, anything could happen last minute...We don't have the mandatory orientation until July 9th, so technically if you miss that then you are dropped. AND it may be at that point that someone may decide they can't attend bc we will also find out our schedule at orientation..I will update you guys after I attend the orientation, and let you know if I hear of anyone who plans on not attending. Don't give up hope though! It's still just May!

Great! Glad you got it all worked out!! I said the same thing about the costs of things! Idk what I would do if I didn't have my husband's support!! Sheesh! bc It all adds up! Not to mention I have to get a new laptop bc the one I've had is waaaay too old....but again, I too am happy to be given the opportunity in the first place so I won't complain!!! Nikki, I don't know anyone at magnolia. I will be at the Straw Plains campus. And there is a TON of things to do in the D2L folder for dropbox. You have to complete your drugscreen and background check by May 15. Which is $31 and $25....And we have orientation, or atleast I do on July 7th @ 9 @ hardin valley in the goins building. But it may be different for each campus location I am not sure? Call Mrs. Schafer, she is extremely nice and will answer any questions you may have! A Knd82350, I will make sure to always keep you guys in the loop, as well as my prayers! No worries, you ladies got this! :)

They gave me until May 5th to accept or decline so I assume at that point they will prob start contacting additional alternates as well..I will def come on here and keep you guys updated if I find anything else out!

Hopefully you hear something soon!! at least we know they are pulling candidates from the alternate list...Oh and just a heads up, I didn't receive a phone call, it was an email! So make sure you check your email you used on your application...Be sure to check spam folders as well...I was expecting them to call alternates not email, so that was a big surprise!

Has any of the alternates received that packet via email that was suppose to list the things we need to have completed should we get called? I know she sent out an email saying she would be sending them, but I haven't received anything yet?

Yes, Knd82350 I saw that posting as well.....I'm hoping people get it together and hurry and tell Pellissippi No! lol I hate to sound that way but um....We're waiting too patiently! lol I guess the only positive part is that they offer the program at 3 sites, Magnolia, Blount, and Strawberry Plains so that does give us alternates a fighting chance!

Yeah one of my friends told me her cousin got her acceptance letter from Roane about a week ago as well!! Hopefully they will start sending pellissippi decline to accept letters! lol I'm praying for the best for all of us!!!! Atleast we know that something should be shifting soon!

Well I did happen to ask the Assistant for the nursing office an approximate number of people that were on the alternate list and she said 80-90!!!!! I'm like whaaaat???!!! Now I really feel discouraged? So hopefully all of us that are on that alternate list get accepted! She did send an email last week stating they would be emailing the nursing packet (things needed over the summer) by this week..But for alternates not to complete any of them unless were called and told we have a spot....I think Roane state has already sent out there acceptance letters?? I think Walter's state sends theirs out in June though...So hopefully we all know something either way really soon!!

@knd82350 Congrats for being accepted on the alternate list as well!! I didn't know you get be on both alternate lists though? Why would you have to be on the traditional waiting list if you're already an LPN? Seems like it would be a much shorter list on the bridge rather than traditional??

that's Awesome news Niki2286! Congrats! hopefully I will be there with you...But I figured RSCC didn't send out letters until early May so hopefully around that time I will know something either way..It just sucks not knowing exactly where you are on this "list". LOL

Oh ok, I took stats at the hardin valley location and I can't remember My professor's name, I think it started with a B? it was an older woman with grey and black hair? Anyway, she was THE BEST!!!!! She made it seem so simple!!! I pulled a B+ with her! and Micro I took at the magnolia campus...It was a struggle but I passed! LOL

Hey! Yes I just got off the phone with Bryan at their office and he basically told me the same thing. He couldn't tell me where on the list or even how many were on the list but he did say they pull QUITE A BIT from the alternate list each year due to people attending elsewhere, or not meeting the requirements such as background checks, financial aid, or just life in general. It gives us alternates hope but it still makes me nervous! I just wish they could tell us where we are on the list for our sanity! Lol

Wow!! we are both alternates!!! I just posted something similar as well!! I am so nervous!! Once you call and if you find anything out could you let me know as well? I was also wondering how many alternates they have in total, and how many actually get accepted each year...Good to know I'm not alone in this process!!

Hi guys! So this is my very first post, so PLEASE BARE WITH ME! As my title says, I recently (as in two days ago) received an email advising me I was accepted on the "alternate list" For the 2015 Fall traditions nursing program.. ARGH! It just sounds soooo depressing...*wipes tears* As much of a compliment as it is, it's still quite frustrating. I guess I just want to hear from anyone who has been on Pellissippi's alternate list, or any alternate list for that matter. How did it work out for you? Were you accepted? If so, when? I am full of questions, and doubt and I really just want to know where I stand. Since it's over the weekend I haven't had the chance to call and hassle them with questions about where I am on the list, or even if they can tell me that. I am not sure how many people they put on the alternate list, but I do know the students that received general admission have until April 3rd to respond. However, I don't know for sure when Roane State sends out their acceptance emails/letters either. Sorry for all the rambling, I just have a million things running through my mind at this point. Any advice, opinions, directions etc would help! Thanks guys!!!
