  1. I was told wesley has a LPN to BSN pathway. My dad works at a hospital and they hire ADNs fresh out of school all the time, they are actually having a huge shortage right now.. And look on craigslist there are a lot of jobs for LPNs
  2. okay I added it up and it will take me like 2 1/2 to 3 years to finish ! so Ive been looking into lpn programs and then maybe go to Wesley for the lpn to bsn program. I been looking at polytech have you heard anything about their program ?
  3. When I look at the course sequence it has the math, chem hlh130 and a&p then it starts the nursing classes but along with the nursing classes is micro socialogly and the English , I'm wondering if I should follow the sequence or get those out of the way or atleast some ?
  4. Okay thank you. Did you take just the ones you needed to take before getting into the program or did you take the other stuff like the English and micro ? How many points did you get accepted with ?
  5. oh I didn't see you said Owens that where Im starting. so Im guessing your in the practical nursing ? how many classes to nursing students take at a time? did you follow the sequence or use it as and outline?
  6. Is this at Del tech ? if so what campus and how did you schedule everything? I need to register for summer and fall in April and im not sure what classes I should do She had me doing everything but the nursing then do them which would take me three years. I have kids so I need to pick them up by 5:30 so hopefully I wont have class or clinicals later than that. My old advisor ( the one that didn't know much) said I could be in clinical until like 6 or something and I was like what ? I figured they had day time clinical for people like me who have kids or work.
  7. Prereq like what? I looked at them and it said English and math? My first advisor has me taking the math and that my first semester but she doesn't know anything she never told me anything about that she just said to register in April but I'll find out all of this monday. I just want to know if there are day time clinicals so I can plan for it with my kids.
  8. Im going to see a new advisor Monday to talk to her, I just don't agree with doing everything but the nursing classes then applying, it would take like 8 or 9 semesters when I could manage to do it in 6-7. what times are your clinicals? I have to do the math 012 before the 129 but im going to do a and p 1 and math 012 this summer and then nuring assistant, chem and math for heath sciences. I don't work so I think I can handle it, what classes shouldn't I take together?
  9. I am in a similar situation as you, I contacted my BON in DE and she sent me language from the law stating this; Language in the license law specifically states: "(5)?Has committed no acts which are grounds for disciplinary action as set forth in § 1922(a) of this title; however, after a hearing or review of documentation demonstrating that the applicant meets the specified criteria for a waiver, the Board, by an affirmative vote of a majority of the quorum may waive § 1922(a)(2) of this title, herein, if it finds all of the following: a.?For waiver of a felony conviction, more than 5 years have elapsed since the date of the conviction. At the time of the application the applicant may not be incarcerated, on work release, on probation, on parole or serving any part of a suspended sentence and must be in substantial compliance with all court orders pertaining to fines, restitution and community service. b.?For waiver of a misdemeanor conviction or violation, at the time of the application the applicant may not be incarcerated, on work release, on probation, on parole or serving any part of a suspended sentence and must be in substantial compliance with all court orders pertaining to fines, restitution and community service. c.?The applicant is capable of practicing nursing in a competent and professional manner. d.?The granting of a waiver will not endanger the public health, safety or welfare. e.?The applicant has not been convicted of a felony sexual offense; " so I asked what exactly was a waiver and she said that it is something they can use to "bypass" a requirement . I have look into this and its a case by case an I have heard of some good success stories, just do not lie explain your self and maybe doing a anger management class and staying of trouble will help. Also get what you can expunged because it will help with clinicals and getting hired. I have not been convicted of a crime per se but have been arrested but since I have not been conviced I can get all expunged. I would keep working as a CNA because you might have to get a restricted liscense and if the place you work at now likes you and knows your a great worker who changed they might hire you. also get on your states web site, FL has a guide as to what you will and wont be cleared as. It sucks but I am going to try my best and pray because I know I can say I tried, if I don't ill never know if I could have lived my dream. you can do it, its not hopeless do your research... this is the question for our app in DE Have you ever been convicted of or entered a plea of guilty or nolo contendere (no contest) to any felony, misdemeanor or any other criminal offense, including any offense for which you have received a pardon, in any jurisdiction?
  10. Thank you for responding! I would like to work as a cna to get experience and a foot in the door. My school has a requirement of doing a nursing assistant class before entry to the nursing program. Also they have continuing education programs for CNAs , a friend was going to back to school and they paid for her to go all she had to do is work two days and they would give her a full paycheck and a job once she graduated I would love to find something like that but I don't want to put too much my plate and do bad in school or have trouble scheduling classes.i already have to make sure my classes end in time to pick up the kids. But I guess I'll figure it out ! Just seems like so much I applaud you for working and going to school with kids
  11. Bad idea to work through school ? How can you work and manage to schedule classes around your work schedule ? I'm starting school in May and would like to work to help with his bill(husband works) I also has two kids, but I don't know how to balance both ?
  12. What time are you're clinicals ? No I'm just starting but idk what classes I should register for summer and fall or what ones I shouldn't take together.. I would like to know how to pick my classes right
  13. how do you get into the accelerated program?
