Seton Hall ABSN fall 2015
Hi all! It is bittersweet for me to say that I will not be joining you in the Seton Hall class this fall. After a long wait I have accepted a spot at Johns Hopkins University Accelerated Masters Program. It has been really awesome getting to know and celebrate with you all. I was wondering if anyone wanted to take over the facebook page since I will no longer be a member of the class.

Seton Hall ABSN fall 2015
Hi and congrats! I am from North Jersey as well. Like way north...up close the PA border. I will not be commuting I made the drive for my interview and there is no way I could effectively do it and then also be able to keep up with my work at the same time. I will be living with my grandparents about 10 minutes from Lakewood. Trying it out and if it doesn't work I then too will have to look for an apartment.

I'm sure they'll tell us what we are eligible for! The Red Cross offers a few to so you can look there. I have applied to a few none SHU scholarships already so I would say it's safe to start work on those.

The books I can see would be a pain but they school may want us to have a specific version and publisher along with other materials. I would just double check we can apply for some of those they may be reserved for 4 year students, the seton hall specific ones. You'll be fine with most J&J I had a small one my freshman year. For school specific scholarships my school has a lot of those, where you need to be a traditional student. You aren't eligible coming in for 2 years or as part of av accelerate program ( which we have for engineering) I had seen that list I have just been busy finishing up for graduation here. Aide is just hard these days mine got smaller over 4 years when all of my families financed stayed the same.

Seton Hall ABSN fall 2015
The meeting is in July. I am not getting my hopes up just coming out of a four year degree the finicial aide struggle and I are well acquainted. I know they said there will be a few options so that will be good hopefully it's more then just school offered loans. Hopefully there's some nursing specific scholarships. The good thing is the cost are all up front I was told. We buy our books and supplied for the whole thing in one bundle. So we won't have like surprise cost every semester.

Seton Hall ABSN fall 2015
Seton hall was actually one of the least expensive programs for me because I just need to pay tuition I have family to with with down there. I can rationalize the cost because there reputation is so good! The connections are incredible. I wouldn't worry a lot of people get pulled off wait list I know the wait is agonizing. But it does happen :)

I am so sorry to hear you were both waitlisted I received a call a few days after I originally posted, saying that I got in. I know of people who have gotten pulled off of waitlists before so it isn't unheard of I was pulled off of one for one of my other schools I applied to don't lose faith :) Do you have other options?

Seton Hall ABSN fall 2015
Hi Cass, I recently had an interview to! I really want to come to SHU and I had an interview. I heard they only gave out 50 for the 30 spots so I feel our chances are probably pretty good! I have heard nothing but good things about the program. I am hoping we hear soon I was told the beginning to middle of May we would here but I hope it is sooner then later. I oddly got a message about my finical aid packet coming to me in a few days though last night in my email...I wonder what this means?

Johns Hopkins 2015 ABSN & Masters Entry
I accepted a place at Lynchburg College in VA for a BSN. I had originally looked at the school as an undergrad decided to attend Loyola University instead. When the nursing program at my school was dissolved I decided to pursue second degree programs, I wanted to have both degrees because I am looking to work in nursing hopefully more on a research side, clinical trials, ect. So the biology degree with help with that. The choice wasn't easy but finically it was best and also for reasons of being close to my family and boyfriend. It might not have a name like Johns Hopkins but for me it will make me just as happy and that is what is important. I get a lot of flack for "taking" a step down, but I believe everything happens for a reason. I also wanted to attend a school with religious affiliation :)

Is this just for the BSN students since your deadline is April 1st? The masters program I believe isn't till May first so I am assuming we won't hear till after that. As for your acceptance I would say take the spot all you have to lose is the money of your deposit, but it is worth it because you would hate to let the spot go and then not get into Hopkins. I have commited to another school and am waitlisted for the masters program. I spoke to admissions and It is very hard to get off there waitlist. I know of a nursing student who was number 7 last year and didn't get place. I also know of a PHD student who was number 2 on the waitlist and was not pulled off about 2 years ago. I say don't take the gamble it is not bad to wait and see but nothing is certain so reserve that spot just so you have somewhere to go and you can atleast start working towards your goals even if it is not at hopkins I know that is sad to think about.
