  1. Hey guys.. is anyone training on a different unit than the one they were assigned for their final schedule?
  2. CONGRATS to everyone that got an email! It says to respond if you wish to decline so they can reach out to other applicants. Did anyone respond to "accept" the position moving forward with the hiring process? Or do we just wait?
  3. Yes, but I had to actually call the unit to speak with the ANM who had originally called me because I had heard back since she had asked for my references
  4. Interesting.. were they only interviewing 200 people last year but accepted 150? That is extremely promising.. I'm used to it being the other way around! More like interviewing 200 but only taking 50... I also got an East Bay interview!
  5. Well that was my impression? But I didn't have a set shift on my offer letter, but I also only received an email about a verbal offer letter, so I don't know if the circumstances are different here... If anyone has an perspectives and can weigh in on here, it'd be much appreciated!
  6. Realistically, I would think probably not since the training is 5 days a week (someone can check me on this). Plus once the didactic portion ends, your shift time on the units is variable.. which means at some point you will work days, evening, and night shift.
  7. I was told (at least for my unit?) that the references writers must complete the references by Monday...
  8. I got this email as well.. except it was 3 minutes before my ACTUAL interview so it freaked me out. I was never informed of a MS-ICU interview so not sure why I got that email to begin with?
  9. I think days are generally 7am-3pm, evenings are 3pm-11pm, and nights are 11pm-7pm. Does anyone know for sure how overtime here works? For instance, is it 1.5x if you work over 8h?
  10. Actually yes. Has anyone received an email officiating your acceptance (verbal or otherwise) from the Burn Unit?
  11. I am in the same boat, any information would be much appreciated!
  12. Ah, I see. Thats fantastic you got into one of your top three! CONGRATS! Are you referring to programs with the option to enrolling in an NP Program after you receive your licensure, or NP Program that is included? I know of a few Master's Entry Level + NP programs but they are all 3 year programs that begin in the fall (but only one in the Bay Area being UCSF). In any case, good luck on your other two schools!
  13. Hello there! I was wondering, if you don't mind, why you decided to go to another school? I am asking because I am in the decision process as well. Any information you may have would be helpful and appreciated!
  14. Hey there! Sorry to get back to you so late and glad that mmeem got back to you. I wanted at least one other admin for the group so yes, between the two of us let us know if you have any problems getting into the page. ? So glad to have gotten a few people together already!
  15. Sure, but my previous experience was leading me towards a research career so I don't know how helpful it'll be? I got my BS at UCLA in Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics (MIMG) with a minor in Biomedical Research (GPA 3.65), and my MS at Berkeley for Infectious Disease and Immunity (GPA 3.88). In short, I have 3 years of undergrad research with two Summer internships and my MS was also research based. I do have volunteer experience, but the bulk of it revolved around teaching science to underprivileged/minority students interested in STEM fields. For me, the pivotal turning point was when my father fell sick and I helped take care of him for the better part of a year. It was tough, but this directly impacted me wanting to change careers to help people in a more tangible way. Although I am super excited to begin this new journey, I am very nervous as well! But who isn't, right? ;)
  16. I found out this morning that I was accepted to the SF campus. Does anyone know how many people are in this cohort by chance?
  17. Hey hey, so here is the link to the FB page. I will admit that I have only made a "group" once or twice before (ages ago) so if anyone has anything they want to add, please feel free! It'll be nice to have a private platform where we can exchange info and help each other out. https://www.facebook.com/groups/292501558616626/
  18. Thank you so much for taking the time to give a detailed response. I have heard good things about both but not in much detail, so it's always nice to get insight from others.
  19. Good luck to everyone! The waiting game is a tough one! >< ! I have a question to ask out of curiosity, and I hope it is not rude to ask.. but I would be very interested to hear people's perspective to why they chose to apply to USF vs SFSU vs other schools in the SF vicinity if you cared to share..? Choosing a school is a very personal thing and often goes beyond a schools reputation or stats.. I am new to the Bay Area and would love to hear your thoughts!
  20. Hey hey... just wanted to say Congratulations to everyone that was accepted, and good luck to those on the waitlist! I was wondering if there was already an existig FB page for the ELM-A Spring 2021 cohort? If so, great! If not, I would be willing to create a page so we can communicate with one another more easily and exchange use information moving forward. ?
  21. Hey all, We should be hearing back from admissions any day now, no?
  22. Hey there! I believe on the website it says that notifications will be sent out approximately 10 weeks after the application due date, so I guess we can expect emails at the latest by mid November?
  23. Thank you for posting this! I look forward to hearing from the other applicants in the future. ?
  24. Thanks! Do you happen to know (or anyone) what the estimated total cost is for the 15 months? Not just the tuition, but for everything? First year is $132K but I don't know about the other 3 months.. Also, is anyone else apprehensive that we will indeed begin in June? I know they sent out an email telling us they anticipated continuing with that time frame, but I'm still not convinced. If anyone else has some insight on this, please share! In the meantime, be safe everyone. ?
  25. It’s a good question, might be worth sending an email to admissions to see their pRespective on things as of now..
