1. Hey all, So I'm currently nursing in England and hold a bachelors of nursing (Adult). I am moving to the United States ( Florida) in a few weeks and have applied via cfgns for a ces report. Just wondering if anyone else has applied using this and how long it usually takes & is it usually sucessful. Thanks Rachel
 2. Hello i was wondering if anyone could help, i was wondering if any international nurses used CFGNS to validate there credentials for Florida? I know on there website it doesn't list them however there website seem the most easiest to use and it also seems the most popular with all the other States. Thanks Rachel
 3. Hey all. In December I am relocating with husband to america (He is a US citizen), if I want to apply to take the NCLEX any ideas on routes I'd have to take. I looked into this a while ago and discovered I had enough peds, mental health and obstetrics experience but I know that i need to send off my qualifications and cant remember that process. Any help would be appreciated also please share if you've also made this transition. Thanks Rachel

These essential nursing skills will be underpinned with a sound physiological basis, particularly with reference to service user observations. Successful completion of this module would facilitate students to practice in a compassionate, respectful way maintaining dignity and wellbeing and communicating effectively.

Health in Society (30 Credit Double Module) This core module aims to empower nurses to recognize and scale up their important role in the design, monitoring and delivery of services to improve health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities. Students will gain an awareness of health promotion/education to tackle health inequalities and support behavioural changes in an individual and within society. Nursing will be explored within the context of current socioeconomic, health and demographic trends taking a holistic lifespan approach.

Adult Nursing Practice 1 (30 Credit Double Module) This field specific module will introduce students to key aspects of the holistic service user medical and surgical assessment processes. Four areas will be covered during the module – these will be the respiratory system, cardio and neurovascular disease and renal disease.

15 ADULT YEAR 2 Module Overviews: Level 5

Nursing in Society (30 Credit Double Module) This core module aims to prepare students to develop their knowledge, skills and professional values to deliver high quality essential and complex care to all service users. It is concerned with human experiences as individuals, families, groups and communities across the life span. The module aims to develop students' understanding of how peoples' lifestyles, environments and the location of care delivery influence their health and wellbeing. The need for professional and effective communication, both verbal and written is seen as paramount and these principles underpin the whole module philosophy.

Professional Values and Evidence Based Practice (30 Credit Double Module) The aim of this core module is to focus on the framework of moral, ethical, legal and professional values that inform nursing practice and allow nurses to effectively function within society. Building on input from the first year, students will be expected to critically analyse key concepts and debate meaning within different clinical situations. Students will be expected to demonstrate the ability to effectively and safely apply these concepts to the clinical situation using field specific case studies that relate to both hospital and community settings.

Adult Nursing Practice 2 (30 Credit Double Module) This field specific module aims to complement the other clinical modules of the pre-registration nursing programme in developing the students' knowledge and understanding of how to interpret care needs and intervene accordingly for given clinical situations.

Adult Nursing Practice 3 (30 Credit Double Module) This field specific module aims to enable the student to develop their clinical assessment and decision making skills in both community and hospital environments, in order to demonstrate safe and effective practice.

16 ADULT YEAR 3 Module Overviews: Level 6

Adult Academic and Practice Enquiry (30 Credit Double) The field specific module academic and practice enquiry module progresses the adult field students' insight in clinical decision making. The focus for enquiry is the student's choice. It is expected that students will enquire on important areas of their practice relative to their field of nursing.

Adult Nursing Practice 4 (30 Credit Double Module) This field specific module aims to prepare students to be responsive to the changing health needs of adult service users with complex health care needs in both the community and hospital setting. It will allow students to ensure that they develop robust recognition skills of early pathophysiological condition changes so they can be active participants in maintaining health. Equal emphasis is placed upon the student's development of prioritisation and rationalisation skills to ensure safe and appropriate nursing care interventions are planned in response to changes in service users' conditions.

Policy, Politics and Nursing (30 Credit Double Module) This module will develop students' knowledge of political and policy drivers and their application to contemporary nursing practice. 5. Okay thank you both. Im looking at Tn / Ga.
 6. Hey thanks for your reply, I know this makes me sound super stupid but where do I apply?
 7. Hey can I ask, did you do your degree in England? If so did you complete all those hours in the theory side? I haven't, this worries me.
 8. Hey!! I was wondering if anyone could offer me some advice.. I'm going to graduating university in november and i have my first job already at a&e (ER). Although my course is predominantly adult nursing, in order to graduate and qualify we do have to show that we have experience with paediatrics, obs and mental health... all of which I have through doing clinical placements in both gynae and a&e.. I was wondering if any one knows the set amount in order to be able to take the NCLEX. Or the best process in order for me to get out there. I dated a guy for three years so i've spent the majority of my time over there and have so many friends now and I just see my life there rather than in England... if someone could give me some advice on best routes to take it'd be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks Rachel
 9. Hey I do have experience with obstetrics but it depends how much experience is required? When we pass university they sign to say if we have experience in mental health, obs, peds but this all very little experience as majority is adult. Would this be a major problem?
 10. Hey! I'm about to start my gynaeoncology ward in a few weeks, i was wondering if any one should know what to expect.. I've been asked to write a plan of clinical skills I would like to achieve and I seem to have blank on these.. so far I have put.. -participate in drug rounds -Put in and take out female catheter -Practice and become more confident at drawing up injections -Give an IM injection Now I'm blank. Can anyone think of anything else that may be available or that all students should try and achieve before qualifying.. Thanks!
 11. Hey, I was wondering if anyone would be able to offer some advice. I'm currently doing a Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing, in this course although it is predominantly Adult Nursing we do come across paediatrics, mental health and learning disabilities which all as to be signed off throughout our three year. Anyway I have one year to go and I am currently hoping to get a 2.1 or a first ( I guess depending how the third year goes). Once qualified I would like to make the move to the US in TN as I am currently dating and have been for the last year an American Citizen and he lives in TN. I know I would need to take the NCLEX is there anything else I would need to do in relation to Visas and nursing overseas. Hope someone can help. Thanks Rachel
