  1. Hi!! Me too! My advising session is at noon today! Maybe we are in the same meeting? It's a little weird that it's a group session but I guess it saves them time. I'm excited but also terrified! Can't believe I'm finally doing it . I plan to keep working full time for as long as I can handle it. What about you? I wonder if we will be in the same classes or different ones . I'm nervous about finding preceptors in this area. I wonder what happens when you can't find any for a specific course / semester . Whew . Can you tell I'm getting anxious ?.. ? Congrats !! Have you registered for your classes yet ? I got email saying I'll be taking 3 of them in the Spring.
  2. So from my understanding, we have online classes/ theory first 2 semesters and clinical practicum starts during 3rd semester . But it says we have to have a practicum site lined up by the middle of 2nd semester. If we can't find placement we might have to miss a semester which will delay our track... there's 4 of them and the heaviest one is during the last semester ( 180-180-180-240 hours).
  3. Thank you! Honestly I have no idea how they rate us and decide who's a good fit and who isn't . I have less experience than you do and my GPA is about the same as yours . I don't have veteran preference or anything ... I am very excited ! I think you are going to enjoy University of Alabama! I've heard only great things about their program!
  4. Lets hope not! LOL I'd lose it ?‍♀️ lots of patience to us all this week!
  5. That means we gotta wait another week for them to make a decision ... LOL
  6. Thank you for the update !. It's driving me crazy not to know. Some of us have to plan around work and finances ... can't find out last minute like that ?
  7. No, mine says "pending decision" as well. its so frustrating!! Like, just make up your mind guys. I know we are all awesome nurses with lots of experience and knowledge to contribute, and I'm sure it's a tough choice for them because there's too many great nurses to pick from. But come on, man. They can't just tell us 1 month before the classes start.
  8. Yes! $500 per credit hour is what I was told . Which isn't bad at all. I moved to this area from Saint Louis, MO and when I tried to apply to FNP program there 2 years ago they told me it's 950$/credit hour . Another university out there was 1250$/ credit . The cheapest program I've ever seen personally was 450$/credit in Louisiana . so west Florida is pretty fair with their costs !
  9. My engagement specialist person reached out today and said that admission decision for Spring2026 will be made by 11/15. So be on lookout for your emails , y'all! good luck ! Let's keep each other updated so if we get accepted for that semester we can hopefully stay in touch !
  10. Congratulations on your admission to University of Alabama! That's exciting! Good luck !
  11. I have 10 years total of hospital , rehab, outpatient and home health experience . Did a bit of everything before I decided what I really want to do when I grow up as a nurse ? haven't applied anywhere else . But if I'm not accepted into this program I'll be thinking about applying to University of Alabama next time as well.
  12. I got a call from West Florida advisor today, the one I've been in touch with since I applied, and he said he's sending my file for a review today. So I assume we will be hearing in the next week or two whether we got accepted or not. have you heard anything yet ? If I'm not accepted for Spring I will apply again for the Summer . My GPA is good and I have a few years of hospital and clinic experience so If I'm not good enough for them this semester , I will try again for the next one . It will happen eventually gotta stay optimistic these days so I don't go crazy LOL
  13. Thank you ! That makes me feel better ! That I'm not the only one trying to juggle kids , work and bills! I hope we all get into NP school and do well! You are right , if we don't do it now we might never will! I spent many years working in different nursing areas trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up as a nurse! Haha I think I'm at a point in my life when I finally feel qualified enough to shoot for being a prescribing provider . ill let you know if I hear back from UWF! thank you !
  14. Thank you for the information! good luck with everything ! It's very exciting, even though it worries me sometimes if I will be able to work full time while going through the program . Because I can't imagine paying for school and not working at the same time . But we will see . I wish I've made decision to apply a few years ago, before life got so expensive everywhere.
  15. Congratulations!! At least you know for a fact that you will be working on your dream goal no matter what . If you get accepted to both programs, which one would you choose and why? If you don't mind me asking
  16. Hi! I applied on October 3rd and haven't heard back yet . I assume we will hear something back after November 1st. Many of you gave me a good idea to apply to more than one program. I'll be looking into UA as well. good luck to you all and let's stay in touch! I hope we all get accepted!
