  1. Thank you SOOO much for your response! You are so helpful! I have tried my best to make a mock schedule of what my first year would look like and it does seem like I would be on campus 3-4 days/week. Relocating might be in my near future. I also emailed someone at the U to ask about clinical opportunities. I just really want to experience a peds rotation somewhere in there and I want to be sure Mayo can provide that. You mentioned that you connect with the Twin Cities via ITV, but you also have an instructor in your classroom as well. Is it strictly lecture (no group work) while you're attending courses like that? As in, do you show up for the class and listen to a couple professors for a few hours straight and then get dismissed? I ask because I wonder if I could just attend those lectures in person, instead of through ITV. Another weird question - what would you say the average age of the students in your cohort is? Can you tell I'm an over-thinker? :) I just want to make the best decision and I'm scared I'll make the wrong one! This is just so important to me!
  2. To be honest, I don't know yet. I was fortunate enough to be accepted to a couple schools and I haven't made up my mind. I never expected to be in this position. I'm pulling for you!! Stay positive! And keep us posted!!
  3. I will be declining my spot at Century. Good luck, CTN91!!! :)
  4. Hello, I am looking for any and all information I can get about the UMR BSN Program. I was just notified that I was accepted today! *ugly crying* I am absolutely ecstatic that I actually got into the U's program - especially because they do their clinicals at Mayo. However, I would love to hear about someone's personal experience. I was also accepted to a couple other programs through community colleges that switch to Metro State or Augsburg to end with a BSN as well, in roughly the same amount of time. I currently live in the Twin Cities and would have to relocate. (I applied to the U and said I would attend either campus after I saw that Roch. does their clinicals at Mayo - how cool!). Did anyone commute from the Metro area or surrounding to the Rochester campus? Is the much higher tuition at the U worth it compared to getting the "same" degree in the end if I started at a CC? I already have another degree from the U, so I am a bit concerned about tuition. Has anyone had any luck with scholarships? Did you enjoy the smaller class sizes at Rochester? What were clinicals at Mayo like? Any insight that anyone can give me would be tremendously appreciated. Thanks!
  5. Did you end up accepting your offer at the U-Roch? If so, did you enjoy it and was it everything you hoped it would be?
  6. Hi, I don't know if you even check this website anymore, but I'm going to ask you anyway. :) Did you end up applying to St Kate's Master's - Entry Level program and get in? I am applying for the second time in the next couple months. I applied two years ago when it was brand new and was wait-listed (and eventually didn't get in). If you did, I would love to hear about your experience! I hope to hear from you.
  7. I don't mind sharing at all! I have been scouring this website for months to give me some sense of hope of ever getting in. I will share anything to help someone else out, the way others have helped me. I didn't have very good grades my first few semesters in college and was actually told by a counselor at one point to consider another major because I likely wouldn't ever get into a nursing program. Always go after what you want! Try and try again! Ok, onto your question... For Inver's pre-req's I had a 3.5 GPA and a TEAS score of 82%... Bringing me to an 11.7. Good luck to you, I really hope you get in! :)
  8. Wow, that's awesome!! Congratulations!! & Good luck with your interview!
  9. Thank you so much! I hope you get your acceptance letters soon! Yes, I've just heard from Inver. When I talked to Betty Blazer at Normandale a couple weeks ago, she said they will send theirs out "about March 13th." So I wouldn't be surprised if we all start getting letters any day now. I feel so fortunate to have gotten in at all! I have been so nervous about it! Good luck to the rest of you and I hope to see you there!! :)
  10. I applied to Inver, Century, Normandale, and MCTC. I got an acceptance letter from Inver Hills today! (I know, 2 weeks early!) I was sure it was a rejection letter being that it was early. I hope you guys find out soon too!
  11. I just received my acceptance letter in the mail today!!! I cried!! I'm so excited!! Have you heard back yet?
