  1. Ouac status shldve changed as well. Due date to respond to OUAC offer is july 3rd. So if you didbt get any updates on OUAC, call Nipissing.
  2. For deposit, you could pay by online banking using student number. due date is July 3. So by June 25th, if you haven't received ur letter, contact them and follow up. :)
  3. They have some lectures, apparently primarily focusing on psychosocial stuff--that's pretty much happens on the first month of in-class. I heard it is standard 5 days/week; starting 8 or 9am and finish as early as 3pm or 4pm. I heard they are pretty hard on grading essays and projects. The placement projects that i mentioned are like creating your own learning plan, then outline how you'll attain the goals you wish to learn by the end of your placement. Placement schedule all depend on your preceptor's schedules. then weekly reflection classes (so meet up in the classroom). For example, for the two months of placements, you'll probably just have to do two shifts per week and the rest is for self-studying. :) That's the current schedule of my friend who is in the program.
  4. So from what i heard from my friend who is in the program: - 3 months per semester; tri-mestre/year - 1 month in-class, 2 months in placements (weekly reflection classes for NI sessions) In terms of placements: - you get rotated every semester - so i think you get to be placed in all affiliated of the hospitals (give they have spots available) by the end of the year 1 (i need to double check with her because her top 1 and 2 placements are UHN and TPH and she got placements in Toronto Western (sem1), Toronto Rehab (sem2), and TPH this semester --> have to double check with her) - There are Student Projects that are due at end of each placement months. - projects and essays are weighted heavy relative to tests; but tests are also important in that you MUST attain a certain mark in order to pass that semester
  5. Got my aceptance too! :) yey! Congrats to all!
  6. Congrats! Mine still says "No Decision".
  7. no, no results yet from Nipissing. you?
  8. at another thread here at allnurses.com; one person already got a result for his or her interview when they checked their web advisor. So maybe check that~ I checked and still says 'No Decision Made'. Good luck all~
  9. Hey! I applied to Humber, UofT and Nipissing for the accelerated programs. I got rejected from Humber (i have a gpa for my last year as 3.5). Had my Nipissing interview and I thought it went well. They said mid June for results.
  10. How's everyone else's interview?
  11. had my interview last friday: 9am. It went well, i think. the interviewers were the representatives from the hospitals that I rated top 2: which were Sick Kids and UHN. I was very nervous for the interview (the morning of, while eating breakfast, my heart was beating so fast, it felt like i was working out). When I sat down, they asked me if I was nervous and I told them: "surprisingly, very nervous, and I am not often nervous at interviews". They were very nice and attentive. My interview lasted about 30mins, that included the time i asked questions. They said they'll get back with decisions by June (can't remember if they said early or mid)....
  12. Hey YorkUnursing! That's what I heard as well with regards to interview: talk about ur experience and the question that they gave you on the email they sent you. From what i heard, there are about +150 applicants this year for 50-75 spots.
  13. Hi Anon101! I have not heard about the lost of accreditation in 2012. So for the exam, from what I heard, there are few big exams at the end of the semester that requires at least 90% mark in order to complete the semester and move on to the next semester.
  14. For those who applied to Nipissing's SPP, below are things I inquired of a friend who is currently in her first year in Nipissing's SPP. As I am also hoping to get into the program myself this year, I inquired and here are some of the things she told me: - very self-directed; basically no teaching at all - very small class sizes - most learning is through placements: you get partnered with a nurse in your placements - lots of group projects and presentation - there are writing assignments based on placements (i.e. you set a goal you hope to achieve by the end of the placement period, then you write how you hope to achieve those skills, and then update it along the way, they are due at the end of the placement period) - there are exams each semester (big exams that usually require students to have 80% or more in order to pass, if not, they must repeat the semester; so kinda like make-or-break exams) - they have 3 semesters: Sem 1: September - November, December break; Sem 2: January-March, April Break; Sem 3: May-July, August break, etc. - Each semester is broken down to: 1 month of in-class, 2 months of placements - Toronto campus have no simulation laboratory, so most skills is practiced and learned during placements Hope the above information helps! I'll post more if I found out some more information. Still waiting on any updates. Congrats to those who got admission so far! :)
