GCU BSN Tucson, Spring 2016?
This sounds like typical GCU. If you go back and look at threads from summer and fall 2015, you'll see what I mean. They lead those of us applying along as long as possible and then they cancelled the program for the summer. Then they had us all reapply for the Fall and dragged us along again, but then they said they weren't taking transfers. It was absolutely horrible of them to do, and I am sorry you have to deal with them. I know there are more spots at that Campus, but they are probably trying to get all their students who didn't make the cut for Phoenix campuses to accept Tucson first. That is what they did when I applied.

ASU Post-Baccalaureate BSN 2016 - Welcome
Thanks Melanie for your reply. That is very helpful. It really stinks that you could have failed a class because of your instructor! I have totally been there. Do the post-bacc students have different instructors? I know I read on last years thread that some classes had all 48 students and some just had 8? Is it 8 students for clinicals too? Do they register you for your classes or do you get to choose the section? Sorry lots of questions! I know they may be answered soon but it's nice to be prepared. Also how do most people get to class who are living decently far from campus? And lastly, do you happen to know job stats of last year's class? I know it is too early for you guys, but it would be nice to know how easy or hard it is for post-bacc students specifically to land a job! Thanks so much for all of your help current students!

ASU Post-Baccalaureate BSN 2016 - Welcome
Hi!!! To those of you who are current students. Did you have any free time? Are there students who are struggling to pass the courses or getting bad grades? Or are most people getting A's and B's. You have to have worked pretty hard to get into the program so I'd think the quality of students is high. I want to be able to work really hard and get A's. Not work really hard and be worried about passing. I also want to know if I would be able to keep my part-time job? Thank you. I'm glad I found this post.

What is a nursing GPA?
Thank you! Did the schools focus on the nursing GPA? Or was it just a component of all things considered? Also, did you apply to Neonatal NP programs?
-
What is a nursing GPA?
Thanks for responding. Does this include pre-req courses (Anatomy I and II, microbio, History of nursing, etc.?) or just the courses in the program?
-
What is a nursing GPA?
I am still in nursing school, but like most people, I am already trying to figure everything out so that I can apply to CRNA school in the near future. I keep seeing people post their "nursing GPA" and their "science GPA". What courses are included in those GPAs? And are those GPAs what and admissions committee looks at? I have a previous bachelors degree in biochem (a more specific biochem). Thanks everyone for your responses.

ASU or GCU? Which school is better?
Also, at this point in time ASU is 100 times a better choice. This may change in a few years, but GCU needs to get their act together. From my experience, they are a total disaster right now. From what I have heard, their students are always on edge about clinical spots. But ASU is a lot more organized and you can just go to school and rest assured that you will finish the program on time and with excellent clinical spots and organization of the program.

ASU or GCU? Which school is better?
I know this is from a while ago, but I think you are talking about U of A?

GCU Fall 2015 **ALTERNATES**
My advisor said that there was no chance for transfers. We are at the back of the list and there are tons of GCU students on it. Originally they were going to rank us on our stats like they said in the email, but then they realized that all the transfers would be in front of their students. They obviously couldn't let that happen!!!

GCU Fall 2015 **ALTERNATES**
Hey guys, I was wondering if there were any other GCU alternates out there! Are any of you current GCU students? Transfers? Do any of you know what is going on with this? Like the rankings and placement potential. This really took me by surprise. I hope we can figure this out together. I don't want to get my hopes up like I have been with GCU.

GCU Fall 2015 Transfer Hopefuls
They still haven't sent out an official email. None of my friends would have known had I not told them. I wonder how many transfer students have no idea?

GCU Fall 2015 Transfer Hopefuls
An advisor. They alerted them all on Friday I think. You really can't expect too much from this school.
-
GCU Fall 2015 Transfer Hopefuls
They aren't going to be taking any transfers for the Fall 2015 start. They could not get enough clinical spots to even support their students. Just so everyone is prepared to hear that.

ASU or GCU? Which school is better?
What @Dkraft0713 said may have been true last year, but they are going through a ton of changes. They cancelled their summer program because of the lack of clinical spaces and in the Fall they said that they are mostly going to be accepting their own students over more qualified transfers. Their own student with a 3.0 GPA and mediocre scores over a 4.0 transfer with top scores. I guess that is how they have always done it and this there is no average GPA/Test scores for their entering class. I would say that it is much lower than ASU, but coming this Fall it will be more competitive for transfers. They will have less spots. Also, they are reducing their scholarship amounts from what I heard from the school. This whole GCU thing has been a nightmare since the dean left in Novemeber and they haven't been able to get it together since. It was so unorganized this past semester. It is scary. Lat year I would have said pick GCU because it would have been cheaper if you had a 3.7. That's what I did, but everything fell through and is changing. I don't know what to do for the fall now. I am afraid of GCU's changes.

GCU Fall 15 Hopefuls
Those who are applying to the fall, have you filled out a new consent to attend or intent? I forgot what they were called. Trying to move this convo tho this new thread.

GCU Summer 2015 hopefuls!
Those who are applying to the fall, have you filled out a new consent to attend or intent? I forgot what they were called. I also feel like maybe we should move this conversation to the Fall thread.

GCU Summer 2015 hopefuls!
GCU can actually be cheaper than a lot of other programs out there including the CEP. But I don't know if they are changing the scholarship amounts. They seem to be changing everything else.

GCU Fall 15 Hopefuls
I guess. I'm applying other places too. I guess this is the new thread for Fall haha

GCU Summer 2015 hopefuls!
Is everyone going to the webinar of LIES tomorrow at 8am?

GCU Fall 15 Hopefuls
Amber307, Did she hear that from her advisor that it was confirmed? So you really think it is?
-
GCU Summer 2015 hopefuls!
btw private schools can be non-profit too. All the ivy leagues, stanford, Duke, etc. are private non-profits.

GCU Summer 2015 hopefuls!
@ScrubGirl88 I have heard from MANY sources at the school including the school administration, that they are planning on closing the satellite campuses starting in the Spring. That would make total sense if they were trying to become non-profit like you say. Less spots = more competition = more selective = non-profit school. I was wondering why a FOR PROFIT school would close down the campuses, but a NON PROFIT makes total sense to me.

GCU Fall 15 Hopefuls
Sounds like me on Monday. I never got a webinar invite or a response. You will have to tell me what goes on. Nothing is confirmed at this point obviously. It sucks so much. I can't believe what they put us through. I too want to get done with my degree ASAP, but I think we should just apply everywhere and take it how it comes.
