  1. Thank you for your input! Do you find on your days off you switch back into a "normal" sleep schedule? My fiancé works days during the week so it would be nice to remind myself of what he looks like every now and then and good luck with your pre-nursing school classes! They are tough but so worth it in the end
  2. Thank you for the advice! Luckily I've gotten all my other courses out of the way so I'll only be taking my nursing cores from 8-12 (it's an ADN program). So Monday mornings will be rough for me
  3. Hi all! Quick background on me... I am a new CNA who was recently offered a 7P-7A position with the local hospital and I am SO excited! This floor in particular (cardiac med surg telemetry) is great because the nurse manager informed me the hospital was implementing max nursing and CNA ratios, meaning I will be assigned only 8 patients with 2 RNs, which is still a little scary but a lot better than other ratios I've heard of in the area. My question to yall is what should I expect on this floor on a 7P-7A shift? What is the typical schedule that you follow, how did you become accustomed to working nights, etc. Also, I was recently accepted into my RN program that starts in August... In your opinion, does it help working nights while in school? Any advice is appreciated!
  4. Is it private? Can't find it... What's the title?
  5. That's a great idea!! That way we'd be able to actually figure out who everyone is before we get to orientation
  6. Congrats! Nothing here yet in Carolina beach... But feeling a little more confident with my 350!
  7. My mailbox is becoming the bane of my existence... No letter today! Grrr this is so frustrating waiting!
  8. No letter for me today... Here's hoping for tomorrow!
  9. I talked to my counseler about the LPN program as well for a back-up, but I'm waiting to hear about this program till I apply, from what my counseler told me we have till April so if Im a no-go LPN will be my backup. Really don't want to do the RIBN program personally, I'd rather go through the bridge program after LPN! For those who live in Wilmington, does anyone know how quickly we will receive the letters after they're sent out? I'm trying not to stalk my mailbox any more than I already am
  10. Hey yall! Well I called the counseling department on Monday (because I'm highly impatient) and they said they needed more time to gather the point totals and the letters would probably go out till early next week... Ugh!! Hate waiting!
  11. Hey yall! I just went to my point count today, around 1600, and it was just starting to get crowded... My points ended up being 350 as well... I've been looking around here on older posts and the point count acceptance is really all over the place. My instructor told me today the range for last year's accepted was about 335-370... But this year's pool of 188 is a lot smaller than previous years so I'm not sure if that's going to help/hurt! And for anyone whose as anxious as I was going in for the count, no, they do not give you any glimmer as to what your chances are, just because it changes so much from year to year. But this waiting is torture!! Anyone know when we should expect our letters? I know the past few years the point counts weren't till mid March but the acceptance letters went out that next week... So should we expect them that early? Anyone know?
