What was your advancement score? I'm curious as to what the cutoff was. Good luck, hope you end up with a spot! Did you apply to the traditional as well? I know a few spots will open up there (mine is as of last night when I sent back my acceptance for PB!).

And speaking of breaks... How do they get you guys ready for the 12 hour clinicals, or do they just throw you in? That is one of my big concerns, because I've never really done that before. I used to pull 12-14 hour days in an office setting a few days a month but that was about it. Do they give you guys bathroom/snack or lunch breaks? Do you just take a minute to use the restroom when you need it? Inhale a granola bar while you're walking somewhere, etc? Really curious to see how structured those days are! We all had to submit our paperwork back by yesterday at midnight, so we're on our way to finding out about admissions :).

I really hope mine is wrong, because I had calculated my GPA as a 3.85 and they have it as a 3.71. Thats a pretty significant drop! Time to triple check everything. edit: figured it out. They were supposed to replace my BIO 202 grade with another lab class that I received an A in but they left it as a B. Time to email my Advisor and double check.

YUP! My advisor said we should hear this week, or early next week, regarding the stuff we submitted. Then we should have a decision by the first week of November. Luckily I'm keeping really busy until then to try and stay distracted!

We're in the home stretch of waiting to hear back from ASU at this point! We should get our check-off emails this week, and then acceptance in a few more!

Not me! When did you actually apply? I was a previous ASU student, so maybe they didn't send me anything since it's a re-admittance. Just checked my.asu.edu account and I'm still in, so thats good!

To be fair this pretty much sounds like every nursing program everywhere. So don't worry too much. You basically learn how to pass the NCLEX in your nursing program, and then learn how to be an actually effective nurse in your first job or two.

What times do clinicals usually start, super early? Are they a full shift or just a few hours? Also curious how the last semester goes since I've been told you can request a few different types of facilities for your placement but is it just a lottery or do they try to place everyone with their first choice? Thanks for doing this thread, its got a lot of great info in it!

I posted in the other thread, but I'm applying too, with a 1.8955 advancement score. My advisor said they're shooting for 48 spots again, but never know until a bit further along, so I'm hopeful for that as well. Maycation's cutoff scores for previous years align with what I've been told as well, so I'm pretty hopeful that a mid 1.8 score will get everyone in :). Hopefully we can get a better sense of how everything falls after 9/1, but my advisor also said they were not expecting a big surge or applicants from the GCU mess. At least that they had heard.

Assuming you're taking it at the ASU testing center in Tempe, they'll give you once piece of scratch paper before your test, and I'm sure another if you ask. I was able to complete the test with just the one piece and I probably wrote out 90% of the math problems and some of the science stuff.

What have your overall scores been like? I'm sure you'll be fine! The study guide is your best bet, seriously. I got super nervous ahead of time but if you look at 90% of the advice posts on allnurses, they stress how important the study guide is and I can definitely confirm that is the case. Even if you had no outside knowledge of the topics (I'm talking absolutely none) and understood the study guides concepts and were able to memorize more, I bet you would score in the low 70s. That being said, you have a lot more knowledge outside of the study guide, so I bet you'll score a lot higher than you think! All these 4.0's are making me nervous! Hope y'all followup in this thread with your TEAS scores. Really wish I would have gotten a A in 205 now... missed it by just a few points!

Nice, I'm jealous of that GPA! My advisor told me we would hear back at the end of October or the very beginning of November for the post-bacc program. Egaddy, have you been studying for the TEAS? If so you should be fine. I used the ATI guide, the practice tests online on ATI's site, and the McGraw-Hill practice test book just for extra practice. The official study guide is your best bet if you're on a time crunch, just hit the science really hard! I found the actual test pretty similar to the practice tests from the official guide.

I'm applying to both the traditional program and the PBCNP just to have my bases covered, with my first choice being the PBCNP. Do you know what the cutoff is for the traditional program? I'm nearly 100% sure that I'll get in to that, and I'm 95% certain about the PBCNP as well. Not sure what my GPA is for the traditional program since it required more classes, but my select GPA for the PBCNP was a 3.85, and I got a 93% on the TEAS. Not sure how or if they round, but my advancement score should be a 1.8955. Unless 47 other people have 4.0s and score above a 90 on the TEAS I should be in good shape! When are you taking the TEAS? I took my test yesterday and received a 93.3%. It was far easier than the online practice tests, at least in my experience. Very similar in both content and difficulty to the practice tests from the ATI study guide.

I'm in a similar boat as you (although I've scored an 84.7% and an 80.1% on online A&B respectively), and am freaking out too! I've been studying for the past 2 months, and I need to score in the high 80s to be super competitive to the schools I'm applying to. Most posters on this board have said that in their experience the actual TEAS is far easier than the online practice tests. A pattern I noticed is that people were scoring similarly on the TEAS and the McGraw-Hill practice tests, but that was just a personal observation. I'm taking mine next Tuesday and trying not to enter full panic mode. Just keep reviewing and going over the TEAS guide, and you'll be fine. My biggest piece of personal advice is to be absolutely meticulous in the math section. That is really the only section you can guarantee yourself a high score, so take your time, and be excruciatingly detailed while you do your problems. Try to get 100% there, as it will help bring up the rest of your scores! Welp, I guess this settles the transfer question, although I do love that GCU's emails are always filtered into my Promotion section of gmail, guess it makes perfect sense! Let me know if anyone received something different than the below email, I got this about 20 minutes ago.
