Video RN screaming, dragged into police car d/t refused blood draw on unconscious patient!
A nurse says she was assaulted and illegally arrested by a Salt Lake City police detective for following a hospital policy that does not allow blood draws from unconscious patients. Video shows Utah nurse screaming, being dragged into police car after refusing to let officer take blood from unconscious victim - The Salt Lake Tribune What kind of world are we living in that we're at risk for being arrested for doing the right thing? I'm wondering why no management or supervisors stepped in for this situation. This is not my home state, but I'm pretty sure that the law is the same when it comes to consent. Anyone else able to shed some light on this situation? This is terrible that she was treated that way. I can't imagine.

Feeling kind of down?
Lately I've been feeling kind of down about nursing school and I'm not sure why. I'm five months away from graduating nursing school (RN), my grades have been fine, but lately I've been feeling like I'm losing my motivation. I don't feel like studying or making an effort. Even with how far I've come, I feel like I haven't accomplished anything. I haven't figured out if this is due to school or if it's just life. I love nursing but the home stretch is just leaving me exhausted. Did anyone else feel like this? Did it get better once school was over?

Nursing Your First Job in the Healthcare Field?
I was a CNA for almost 4 years working at a post-op rehab (where we mostly dealt with hips and knees) and then home care. I hurt my back, so I transitioned into becoming a pharmacy technician. I work in an inpatient hospital pharmacy now and as much as I love this job, I miss being a CNA. As much as it stressed me out beyond belief, it was the best job I've ever had. That's why I'm super excited to start nursing school in the fall! I was just curious to see if anyone else was influenced by a job they had, and if it helped you when you went into nursing? I'm hoping that my past/present experience will at least help me out a little when I start nursing school especially when it comes to medications and IVs.

RN to BSN
That's good to hear! I also want to continue on for my masters after my BSN and wanted to make sure that doing it online won't be steps backward, you know? Thank you for the advice and congradulations on your acceptance to continue your education!

RN to BSN
I'll start off by saying that I've been accepted to an accredited two-year RN program. Super excited! My question is that for people who were in the same situation as me, how did you go about continuing on your education to obtain a BSN after your RN? I was doing some research and I've noticed that a lot of RN-BSN programs are online (even a major university). Is this normal? I always thought that getting a nursing degree online was a bad idea? I'm not trying to bash on anyone that has, I just sincerely do not know. I also am getting way ahead of myself, but I just want to prepare myself for the future. Thanks for any answers! I appreciate the help! (sorry if this is in the wrong section)
