New Grad Moving to Phx.. L&D job?
Ah, bummer. I'll send feelers out between when I get licensed and when I graduate to see if I can get any hits back. I potentially have a job here but need to get out of the south. Thanks for your response!

New Grad Moving to Phx.. L&D job?
Hey all, Just curious what the new grad job market is like out in Phoenix. I graduate in May with my BSN and I did my capstone on an L&D unit hoping that may give me an edge to get a job in that specialty. I will be moving from SC with my compact license so that should ease a bit of the licensing issues. Does anyone have insight on new grads getting hired on a labor and delivery unit? Which hospitals are more likely to consider new grads? I am willing to go medsurg but if it's possible I'd like to specialize instead. Thanks in advance for your responses!

What's your dress code at work?
I can see the benefits to having color-coded staff within hospitals... But on a personal level it's a bummer because you don't have any freedom to wear fun prints/express yourself. Then again, I guess one could work in a practice and wear whatever they wanted

closing in on graduation
I thought about it, but from my understanding, travel nurses are usually required to have some experience first...? Perhaps I am wrong. I also have two cats so if I can't take them with me traveling may not be a feasible option. Thank you!

closing in on graduation
Hi everyone! I am going to be graduating with my BSN in May and am trying to decide if I should move and look for a new grad job in a city where I don't necessarily have any networking established versus staying here (CHS, SC) where I have some connections and may have a better shot at getting a job. I'm doing my capstone on an L&D unit and I really want to work in that specialty. I know that new grad hires in LD are few and far between, but do any of you have advice on what you would do as far as moving to a new place or staying? I want to move to Phoenix and have the means to, but am unsure if that's a wise choice. TIA!
